If Ivan goes to the Panthers now, I've lost all respect. Been far too vocal about people being on the bus only to f**k off and catch a cab himself somewhere else.

And Tigers fans...you do not need or want Bennett. f**k me that's a giant step back. Refer to this year's finals shellacking as case in point that the game has completely passed him by. He got absolutely taken to school by Paul bloody McGregor.

The same Penrith fans who said it was no issue Cleary left in the first place and said he wasn't going to take them to any great heights anyway? Or was that just Gus.

So Penrith decide they're focussing on 2021 from here on in.... Payout Hook... While someone (who... Anyone signed?) .... keeps the seat warm for Ivan... Yeah that should work well

I'd love to be able to point to a recent tigers loss....

If Bennett goes to the Tigers you have my commiserations Tigers fans. On the plus side this may potentially mean Seibold to the Donks and #BringBackLangmack to Souffs, which is what they need.

Maguire knocks back Manly coaching gig.....

Doesn't anyone want to coach Moanly.....Where's Bob Fulton or Frank Stanton?

One day, just take a drive up to the Sydney Academy of Sport at Narrabeen and have a look around Manly's facilities. Their offices are in demountable buildings. Gym itself is pretty good, though not flash.

Point being though, Manly are well-behind pack when it comes to facilities. Compare it with Brisbane who are in the running for a head coach, any experienced coach would want the latter's resources.

Manly will only ever be able to attract someone in house like a Hasler or Tooves, or someone looking for their first gig like TB.

If this comes to pass, it will be a hit to Ivan Cleary's integrity. Signs a 3 year contract and the bails after 1 year to go to the Panthers, pretty ordinary to be honest. Would make his 'on the bus" comment ring very hollow.

As to Bennett joining the Wests Tigers, if that occurs, I hope he doesn't following the blueprint he used at the Newcastle Knights. As if he does, he'll leave the joint worse off.

His time at Newcastle wasn't his finest hour, but there was also a tonne of shit going on with the f**k blob who owned the joint too.

There's obviously emotion involved in Ivan Cleary's decision-making. No Nathan, and no way he goes back to Penrith. So you have to ask yourself, is it actually the best decision for his coaching career.? Yes, the Panthers coaching gig is a plumb job. Facilities are second to none in the Sydney metro, and the Tigers in comparison are well down on resources at Concord Oval, but he'll be going back to work with someone who thought he wasn't up to the job. All of a sudden, his spawn's a gun and it's all hunky dory now?

Anyway, hopefully Souths don't come a cropper out of all of this.

Tigers need to look long-term.....does Wayne have even 3 years in him?

I dont have a problem with Bennett coaching the Tigers, as long as there is a long term plan in place post Wayne. We cant let him load the squad with players over 30 trying to win an instant premiership and then have them all retire in a couple of years.
Best scenario is that we get some top players come with him to compliment what we already have, he spends 3 years to put systems in place and builds a solid competitive squad and at the same time we put a promising young coach in as his assistant to take over when he finishes (Ciraldo ;)). If Penrith want Cleary now they will have to fork out some cash which will go towards the next coaches contract which will help.

There are 2 thinks I am not understanding with this whole Cleary situation.

1. The obsession Ivan has about coaching his son. I can't see much advantage to this. At the first sniff of things going wrong there will be rumours of favouritism and unrest in the locker room etc.
2. What the Panthers see in Ivan especially since they have locked Nathan up long term. He is 5-7 in terms of making the 8 as a head coach which is ok I suppose but only 1 from his last 6 seasons.
