How old is your brilliant striker?

He's 21. I expect he'll be world-class just as he turns 22. Thats up around 6-7 * territory.

I want to get around 10-12 million out of him by that stage. At the moment he's worth 7 million but his worth goes up exponentially, the higher he goes, the less players there are with the same or similar rating in Oceania, and the more in demand he becomes.

I'm certainly not that up-to-date with strikers, but I'm not sure that he's good enough to ever be a national player. I think there are a couple of 19yo brilliant strikers being trained by the Sky Blues (a Div V team that really does nothing except train strikers). I'll do a bit of research and find out. I suggest you join the Oceanian national team forum that's been set up - http://code-h.hatstats.info/. I've picked up some good tactical tips from there as well as being more 'in the know' about national team players.

Here are two players that I've just transfer listed.

Evaristo Davanzo (17846670)
21 years, solid form, healthy
A pleasant guy who is temperamental and honest.
Has disastrous experience and wretched leadership abilities.

Speciality: Unpredictable

Nationality: Oceania
Total Skill Index (TSI): 4 080 (816 000 AU$)
Wage: 2 916 AU$/week
Owner: Rockhampton Wolves
Warnings: 0

Stamina: solid Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: weak
Winger: poor Defending: formidable +4
Scoring: inadequate Set Pieces: inadequate
Asking price: 2 000 000 AU$

He's had four weeks of training since turning formidable. I was going to train him to outstanding before selling him, but I have to make room for the 17yo solid to get trained.

Tom Arthur (7809156)
28 years, passable form, healthy
A controversial person who is balanced and honest.
Has poor experience and inadequate leadership abilities.

Nationality: Oceania
Total Skill Index (TSI): 1 320 (264 000 AU$)
Wage: 1 410 AU$/week
Owner: Rockhampton Wolves
Warnings: 0

Stamina: excellent Goaltending: wretched
Playmaking: passable Passing: inadequate
Winger: poor Defending: inadequate
Scoring: weak Set Pieces: disastrous
Asking price: 100 000 AU$

The first is obviously to expensive for most people, but the second is a nice little player who has slowly fallen from a first team player to being un-needed. I'll be looking to hopefully buy an outstanding midfielder with the money I make.

I was wrong about it being Sky Blues (they have the national team strikers), but just to give you an idea what you're up against, the U20 team is looking for 19 year old magnificent and 20yo world class strikers. So as long as they keep getting trained your guy doesn't really have much chance of making the national team.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :( Of course, if you did sell him at the end of the season then you could buy a 17yo solid or even excellent potential national team player, with quite a bit of cash left over.

I'm not all that alarmed by that. Just because he is 2 years older doesn't mean he won't be in the selection frame for the national side. I believe he can be there with those other blokes. I don't think age is the be all and end all of national selection.

ooooh my cup game is getting very exciting.. not exciting because there's lots og goals, but exciting cause there hasnt been any goals!! my keeper has saved about 5 times. he's on absolute fire for an inadequate!! go him!!! yeah!

but one thing i didnt have the chance to do before the match was select my penalty shot takers.. but i spose they choose themselves, but i odnt know if they'll choose the best men for the job or not.. anyways. it'd be awesome if i beat these guys!

oh and in other news.. i have beaten the major debt.

with todays game i came under the 1 million by about 30k. and with a home league game on sunday which could bring in about 300k. things are looking alot better.

ok my opponent for next week is a div II team. so therefore i have no chance. but the money will be the best thing about that game! do the fans love an overtime penalty shootout win?? if so there could be a possible sell-out crowd this weekend, where i should win. and then next wednesday where i will get hammered, hopefully not by more that 9 goals!...

but anyways, i think i'll stop flooding this thread now, someone can delete all those posts if they think it best!
