Wellif the second dude gets himself some EXPERIENCE down the next few seasons - he COULD be a goodun!

But it also depends on his 'personality' - On his player page what does it say up the top? "An X person who is X"

What are his X's? This is an IMPORTANT ingredient for a good coach!

And what 'skill of coach' is your coach?...ie inadequate/Passable/Solid?

That has a lot to do with your situation, and what u need to do down the track as well...

The most important thing for a coach is his coaching skill, which effects how fast he trains your trainees. Other than that, his leadership is the main other thing to look for as it helps your Team Spirit which then can give you an advantage in midfield. But it's not a big difference, so the coaching skill is the most important one.

Experience doesn't actually effect them once they are turned into a coach. What it does do is determine how good a coach they can be turned into in the first place. If you have a player who has passable experience then you can make him into a passable coach (or lower), but if you wait until he goes to solid experience then you'll be able to turn him into a solid coach. Once turned into a coach, the only time experience comes into play is if you play him in your team, when higher experience will make him perform better (which is true for all players).

I don't know what's happening with Holc, it looks like he's missed another of his matches tomorrow. Perhaps time to replace him? I remember a couple of people only just missed out on joining (can't remember who they were at the moment  ), so maybe see if one of them wants to take his spot? Also, Ernesto (from Ernesto's Strikeforce in LU Cup II) sent me a message a few weeks ago asking me to give him a shout when we started the next LU Cup, so he's another option.

Joel Beaumont (8015070)
50 years, wretched form, healthy
A solid trainer who is defensive minded
A pleasant guy who is balanced and upright.
Has passable experience and disastrous leadership abilities.

Where would you class my coach then, just average or a bit better....should I be looking for a better coach?

For training purposes he's good. I'd always try to have a solid trainer. The problem is his disastrous leadership. Not only is it maybe hurting your Team Spirit, leadership drops a level roughly every second season for coaches. But once leadership hits the bottom level (disastrous), it's his training ability that starts to drop. So sometime within the next two seasons he'll likely fall to being a passable trainer.

You can get a solid coach with poor leadership for just a touch over $500k. That's the general thing to do if you don't have the money to get one with better leadership or if you don't have a player you could turn into a better one. Poor leadership isn't ideal, but it's enough to last a few seasons until you get the money together and find a player to turn into a top-line coach.

the vikings recorded their first win of the cup, defeating avalon at avalon. rookie 17yo trainee forward steve martin chimed in with a doube, while midfielder justin dudley also scored a double.

when the next season starts, i hope to look at buying a new 17yo trainee scorer, hopefully solid, but i spose i'd have to be happy with passable. my training program is going alright now i have it sorted out, and now that my debt problem is fixing itself!
i have a 17yo, who is only inadequate, but he's been my best youth pull so far, and i thought i'd better keep one of my own, even though he'll take a while to be worth selling, and go up many levels. my 18yo scorer is at solid, went up 2 weeks ago, i'm pretty certain he was only inadequate when i got him too, and he's the top scorer in my league! i bought a 19yo scorer a couple weeks ago, he's at passable, i couldnt afford solid at the time. i spose i shoulda gone with a 17yo, but i like the order!
my last guy is 20, he's at excellent, went up 3 weeks ago, he was passable when i got him, but i only really started training scoring half way through last season. after you guys put me on the right track!

well i dont really know why i wrote this up, just for the hell of it, and i just felt like sharing it with everyone, even though its not that great an achievement.

also my coach is inadequate, oviously my original coach was weak, and i should have held out and waited to buy a passable or solid coach, but i was too impatient! i have one dude with experience at passable, he's 32yo, and is an original member of my team, so maybe in a couple seasons if he stays in the top team i can make him a coach if he's a solid or better.
and my youth squad is at solid. which is after i had to cut payments for a while there, but back at 40k.
i havent had any great youth pulls yet, just that inadequate scorer, and an inadequate defender, which i couldnt sell, and had no use for.

so thats my story so far!

Sounds like you're coming along well, Poida.

Hmmm, I don't suppose anyone will have a 19yo brilliant playmaker with at least passable defence and stamina early next season? Not asking for much, am I? I'll be selling a magnificent defender to make way for a player of those skills, who will then be played as an offensive central defender to boost my midfield.

The hardest thing is the 16 week wait before a player becomes eligable to be a coach.

If the player you get to be coach can play a bit, thats a bonus as they are not excess baggage on your wage bill for a full season.

Just needing a clarifification, say that i have a magnificent experience, weak leadership player and wish to make him a coach.

Is the top level of trainer i can make him excellent or is it magnificent? I think I already know the answer but am seeking clarification as coaching is my one hattrick weakness. I just don't get the new coaching set up and never have. I preffered the lottery system of hit and hope. Ah, they were the days!

If Ernesto wants in he can have the place of Incredible Holc. I'm not gonna let Holc waste a spot in the cup.

Also Crazy Footballers seems to want out (he seems a bit of a dick anyway so no skin off our nose). So if anyone can remember who that team was that just missed out, they can get in too.

Just get Ernesto and the other guy (need his name???) to register to Cup Manager and I'll just swap the teams over. I'm not sure if they just have to sign up of if they have to sign into the specific LU Cup. I think the latter option.

Anyone know if any of the following still have hattrick teams and if so, what are the names of the teams?

chemical brother
Deano
Dragon Cross
Red Dragon

They have all posted responses in this thread so i'm guessing they would have teams.

I know Deano has a side but need team name.

i just remember that my best youth pulls so far since i have actually invested max in them, and paid attention to it, have been a solid passing, inadequate scoring 17yo, (steve martin, mentioned earlier) and i just pulled a passable passing, inadequate defender, 17yo, i put him on the market, but i doubt he will sell, so i'll probably have to get rid of him.
its surprising how much passing skill boosts the value/TSI, my inadequate scorer/solid passer, was worth about TSI:500 when he first came up, this new guy is TSI300, i know thats nothing huge compared to some peoples excellent/solid pulls, but it surprised me a bit.

i dont have to wait 16 weeks, as the majority of my most experienced players have been with me for some time. i just hope that my passable experience dude can stay clean for a while longer, without degenerating too much, he hasnt at all yet, so maybe he will start. it just looks to me like it is alot cheaper to make a trainer out of your own player, rather than recruit one.
but i'll have to have a look at all the aspects like he agreeability and aggressiveness, or whatever. i'll probably just end up buying a solid trainer next season, but one a little lower down on the leadership ability! just to get a couple seasons out of him! when hopefully i'll have mountains of cash!! :D well here is definately hoping.

i remembered i did actually sell my first inadequate defender, someone must have been pretty desperate! anyways.

Excellent is the highest. But it costs way more than a solid, and only reduces the training time by half a week. So basically you'll save one week of training every two levels your players go up. Probably only worth it if you really want your trainees to have the best possible chance of national selection.

Not sure about the others, but Red Dragon's team is Sydney City Crew (76345). He actually won his league this season, so will be a Div IV team next time aroun.

I'll send Ernesto a message (or if Chile wants to talk to him) and see if he wants to come in.

Message sent. 8)

So how did everyone go in the league this season? Any others promoting? If anybody has a qualifier coming up, speak up and I'll make sure I watch how it goes next Sunday if I'm at home.

Personally, I finished 3rd for the third season in a row. Unfortunately, the team who is regularly rated in the top 10 teams in Div V got upset in my league (for the second time) by the other strong team (who, like me, also regularly places in the top 25), so won't be promoting out of my league. Looks like another season where I certainly won't be promoting.

yeah i came second for the second season in a row, actually the only two seasons ever for VI! got the top scorer aswell, only picked up 20k though. oh well. aint too bad. now for the shake off season!! where low funds get lower!
but i'm going ok, and maybe i will promote next season, you never know cause i am getting stronger, but at the same time alot of teams around me are getting stronger two, although only half my division havent changed owner this season, actually it might be 5/8 that havent.
still3/8 regularly changing, means that those teams arent getting stronger, unless as we get better, they start off with better players maybe.. who knows. anyways. thats my rant again!

I've let him know, he already registered with Cup Manager but doesn't have a league so I let him know he can join ours but Mambo you may need to cut Holc first as Strikey (ernesto) can't actually join our cup yet!
