Hopefully the Cougars will be able to bounce back after a dissapointing 4-0 loss in sweeden through the week. Hopefully we can turn our form around before the blockbuster friendly against the Central Coast Falcons next week in the brand new 12,000 seat West Coast Stadium.

Well, the Waramanga boys got beat in the cup 0-1 by an V div team. Was hoping for a better run but decieded to take a few risks and play trainees in vital positions and paid the ultimate price.
On a happier note Im going into the 3rd round league game tomorrow as hot favourite after 2 wins to start out. New stadium of 34k was a sellout and hope to see more of that this season weather depending.
My potential coach levelled in exp to solid but I think I might wait til next off season before the move to the coaching ranks and take full advantage of his passable leadership. Then it will be PIC PIC PIC and work on finally getting some decent midfield ratings of outstanding plus.
So its survival for the rest of the season and really give IV.34 a tilt next season. By then Im hopeful to have 4 midfielders with at least brilliant playmaking.

Well i had a good 3-0 win at home in front of approx. 8000 screaming fans to put a stop to my 3 game losing streak..i currently sit 3rd on my division ladder and i was aiming 4th or 5th this season..look forward to my game against Central Coast on wednesday.

I had a 5-3 win today - the other side had the better tactics but i had the better players so i was pretty lucky as i was down 2-0 early on, then got it back to 2-2, i was down again 3-2 but went on to win it with two goals from a defender!!

i was beaten 5-3, in a then top of the table clash, near capacity crowd of 10951 (11000) which brought in much needed funds!
i was down 1-3 at abour the 83 minute mark, then 2-3, 2-4 and 3-4 in the same minute?! and then 3-5 with a minute to play. not too bad a game, they had most of the possession.

ofcourse i'll be playing my b team for next weeks friendly, it should be a good test for my team up against a div 4 team.. haha cant wait!

That would be me amigo ;-) I will be playing my youth and B side as well so should be fun...lets just hope for good weather, my stadium holds over 23000 which would be nice

I've had a good few days. On Friday three of my defenders levelled up, 2 to formidable and 1 to excellent. To make it even better, one of the formidable's wasn't expected to go up till next week.

Then I beat the league favourites 2-1 on Sunday, playing at home and MOTS'ing got me an excellent midfield rating. Strangly, it was the first game I've ever played my wingbacks defensive, and they scored both the goals. :lol:

And I just went on to Hatstats, and discovered that my Wolves were the 20th best div V team this round, 2 places ahead of the team I played.

The bad news is that I have 2 injuries in my midfield (1 to a inner and 1 to a winger), which is very dangerous when I only had 6 midfielders in total. Luckily they were to my weakest players, and I just bought a new winger that is slightly better than the one that is injured. I also have bought a new passable #2 goalie, who is only a week's training from solid. My #1 goalie is only a weeks training after solid, so they are pretty much equal in ratings and it will depend on form who gets into the side.

A couple of weeks, and I should have my stadium up to over 40000 (I'm easily selling out my 31500 one). And then I'll be able to start saving.

hey madd dog could i ask one thing.. how do you know how far a player is off going up a level in skill?? nd how can you have defenders going up at the same time as the goalies going up aswell?? or do you alternate or something.. i think i still dont know very much about training, or the more comlicated bits about this game!! its very cool though.

You can tell how far a player is from going up a level by his value. Obviously there are a lot of variables, but you can make an educated guess by comparing different players with equal stats. If one is significantly higher in value, then chances are he is just about to the next level in one stat (although form will also affect value). Keepers are the easiest, as there is really only 1 stat that they'll be high in. There is actually a tool that does the calculating for you. Give me a sec and I'll find it........http://www.hottrick.org. In the left menu you can see a keepers tool.

It's much harder for outfield players, especially if they have a number of skills that they have similar stats in. There's no real way to tell which one is the skill they are about to go up in, or if there's more than one (I have one defender who must be close to leveling in most stats).

I'm not training the goalies, I just know how close they are to leveling by the tool I mentioned. I haven't changed training from defence for over 2 seasons (except for stamina training over 3 weeks in the off-seasons). And I know how far they are along in their training from just counting the weeks since they last levelled up, and have made a general plan for the next 2 seasons where I've calculated when they'll go up. I'm sure most of them will end up a week or two faster or (more likely) slower than what I've come up with, but it gives me a general idea.

Thanks for the friendly Poida....my youth had a good ran out of that although I got rid of two of my older players after the game (fired them) as they are just dead weight and did nothing against your team!

wouldnt it be pretty awesome if i got promoted this season, and i ended up in the same league as someone else here, although only one team gets promoted from down here!! and even then you gotta be in the top 50% of all league leaders..

does anyone else here have troubles with the hattrick website??
i have never had a good page since i first went there, theres no scroll bar on the outermost part of the page(left and down, team, country, league etc), that is after i log in, and the news ticker isnt ticking, all it has is the time..
and the most annoying part is when i want to give my team orders for the upcoming match, sometimes it comes up with the normal page, with 4 defenders, 2 wingers, 2 inner midfields etc, but theres option bars to choose players..
i'm just trying to figure out if its my browser, or if theres like a hi or low version type thing of the site, i cant find much in the way of technical help.. its no huge deal, its just a bit annoying, mostly when i want to give my team orders.. dunno!

i dont really know why they made a new division, in oceania there is 10920 teams, with only 2950 active users, so thats almost 7000 teams without an owner, seems a bit silly to me.. ahh well what a great game it is though!

The problem is that the top 5 divisions only have something like 2600 teams between them, the other 8000 teams are div VI. So all the teams had been filled up, and they needed to create Div VI to give people like yourself teams. But that means that it will take a very long time to get a significant number of those teams filled.

As for the hattrick site, I'm not too sure what you mean with the scroll bar. Are you talking about the left hand menu, the bit down the bottom of the page in the 'My Team' section, or the actual bar that's on most sites (including this one) on the right hand edge of the screen? I believe you mean the latter, and if so it's because there is no need for a scroll down bar as there is nothing to scroll down to (unless for some reason your screen isn't showing it all).

I'm not sure if I've ever seen news in that bottom section, I also only have the time on the right, with the team and div on the left.

I'm also not sure what you mean about option bars to choose the players.

yeah its not that important, the thing i meant about the players was that sometimes i'd click on the "orders" tab, and once i was there i couldnt do anything..

thanks anyways, its all good though, its not that bad.
i think someone will have to challenge me to a friendly!! if they want, otherwise i'll find my own opponent!

I'm not sure if I've ever seen news in that bottom section, I also only have the time on the right, with the team and div on the left.

Stuff appears in the news item only if you have supporter. It tells you when you are challenged, accept a challenge, someone who you support logs on or leaves a press announcement.

The handiest thing I find there is when it tells you if someone has outbid you on the transfer list. There might be some other things there I cant remember at the moment.

I would recommend all users get supporter. As well as features that increase the social side of the game it helps with the development side of things.
