i cant stop thinking about this game!! AAHHHHH
does anyone else have that problem?
Hattrick gets me through the boring hours at work. I'll be there doing my job, all the while my mind is coming up with plans for next weeks games and trying to figure out what player to buy next season. But the worst sign of my hattrick addiction is that often i won't be thinking about anything, and the phrase 'excellent defence' suddenly jumps out in my head.

I won 5-1 against one of the 2 easy beats in my league, put out my 2nd string side (not that there is much difference between my #1 and #2 sides) and PIC'd. My league is suddenly looking very open. Panathinaikos was expected to win the season fairly easily, with myself and Murray considered possibilities to upset him. But one of the other teams in my league got a 17yo solid goalkeeper in the first week of the season and sold him for over $4m. He's used that money to buy two midfielders that regularly get 4 stars, which has put him right up there with Pana.

I had a 3-0 win against a side i usually draw against

The top 4 in my series is very tight - all the teams have similar ratings and it will be the games against one another which will determine the series winner.

My cup game is a tough one - still undecided on whether to keep with my training or go for a win with a the first XI (the other team has some killer ratings and players)

I'd hire more docs than that!...say 6 or 7 or even 8 if u really need these players back desperately!!...Whatever u can afford without sending u into the red!

Soon as theyre all back in health or close to it - with a 'bandaid' next to their name FIRE all but 2 of em again and let em heal that last bit slower if u must!...If that's before a Saturday financial update when all your staff's wages get paid out to them - then all the better - save yourself a week of multi-doc's fees!

Oh and btw your trainees sound OK to begin with Scoring training....although your coach is 'Weak' when u should probably have a PASSABLE one at this stage....which will cost u about 3-400k unfortunately!...Not excatly ESSENTIAL just yet if finances are tight - but something to definitely save for in the near future, to get your training program up & running!

I made one of my players a solid coach today, set me back over $1.4m and I'm now just slightly in the red, but tomorrow's cup match will get me back into positive figures.

Now I just have to save up for a few more weeks then add another 10k seats to my stadium.

I never understood the new coaching setup.

Anyone care to explain how I can get a good coach and what it'll cost me? This is pretty much the only part of hattrick i do not get as yet.

If you hire an external coach, it'll set you back between $1.2m (with weak leadership) to $5.1m (solid leadership) to hire a solid coach.

But a cheaper way is to make one of your own players your new coach. He has to have been in your side for at least 1 season (16 weeks), and his level of experience is what decides how good a coach he can become. So a player with passable experience could be made into a passable coach (or anything lower if you don't want to spend too much money). To get a solid coach you need a player with at least solid experience, and the higher the experience the less it will cost.

How is everyone doing in their cup games? I had a bit of a scare with my opponents going 2-0 up after 20 minutes, but I've come back and finished the half at 4-2.

7-2 victory for me. My team obviously wanted to give me a heart attack when I logged in and saw that we were losing 2-0, but I think my touch-line threats to decapitate the lot of them kicked them into gear.

Now I just have to wait to find out who I face in the next round, and whether I have a chance against them.

i played a friendly against a division V team, and beating them 4 - nil at their home ground was a pretty good effort for my 'B' team, division VI!! go me!!

now i spose i could play a friendly against someone here, that'd be pretty cool!
at my home ground would be optimal! but not essential, so if anyone wants to thrash another div6 team, my id is: 417109, once again.

I play against a Div III team in the next round. They only get a passable midfield in their cup games, but I'm guessing that they were PIC'ing, something that they probably won't do to me seeing as I got a solid midfield rating in my cup game (I played my 'A' side). I think I've got about a 20-30% chance of winning.

Unbelievably, I have survived to the next round of the cup with a 4-0 demolision job. And I'd say I'm around a 80% chance of winning my next cup game as well, so I could be looking at a 5 week run in the cup, which is quite incredible considering I was drop kicked out in the first round last season. The money from each cup match is building as well, which is a major positive.
