Is there any free Hatrick tools

Not sure of the link & can't look it up 4u as I'm at work...but if u do a google search (as I did) on "HATTRICK POLI" then u will find a nifty little manager's tool called - funnily enough - Hattrick Poli!

It is kinda shareware - u get so long free, then u can opt to pay to register...or you can continue to use it for free....and just every couple of weeks it'll pop up a message asking u to registeras I do! :)

I haven't bothered to register as I hardly ever use it - reall just to see at a glance if any of my players levelled up in anything that week....so I haven't thought it worth it....but there are loads more fetures to it, that if u got into using - it would probably even be wprth registering!

Up to u of course, anyway, and there's other manager's programs....that's justthe one I know, use and reccommend! :)

Dunno about the defenders thing...Personally my defenders are just as RUBBISH as they've ever been!!

Defence is the sadly neglected area of my team, and my next 2 purchases are accordingly to be: An Outstanding/Brill keeper, and either an Outst central defender, or a similarly skilled versatile c.def/wingback!

Lot of $$$ right there!! :?

But then - I should be UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Well...at least until I hit III....then EVERY bugger will be able 2 stop me!!...But onwards and ever (slowly!) upwards!!! :D

Think so mate!...Not sure how it works, as I haven't used that bit myself...but there's a screen that's like a 'virtual team setup page' - i.e. it looks like the team setup opage in HT and its built into HT-Poli...but again - not 100% sure of what it DOES, or how one makes use of it! ;)

But it's there!

hey as for this whole manager software thing. i have this freeware program called "hattrick forever", it may not be the best, but it is free, and it has a auto lineup function aswell. thats mainly what i use it for. but i dont always trust it and sometimes make my own decisions. but it definately helped me to start with.

It appears that it was only my defenders that performed so well. Must've been the extra weet-bix I made them eat that morning.

I've just bought two new trainees, a 17yo solid defender with inad passing cost me $1.6m. But the big buy was Odd Lyhbo (what an awesome name  ), a 17yo solid/solid wingback who only cost me $2.8m. Now, that probably sounds like a lot for most of you, but I was expecting to have to shell out about $4m, and saw another player with those stats (although with a higher value) go for over $6m. So it was an absolute steal for me.

Experience doesn't do anything for coaches unfortunately. The only things that matter is his coaching ability (affects how fast your players get trained) and his leadership (high leadership will help your team spirit).

i think my major problem to begin with was that i didnt really have a training plan, but when i get my funds back in order, hopefully i'll be able to buy some more trainees, but obviously nowhere near the skill level of somebody like mad doggs trainees! i'll sort it out when i can actually buy players again!

We all have to start somewhere. My guys were originally 17 & 18yo inadequates, and it's taken three seasons of training until I am now really starting to see the benefits.

All me trainees start at solid.

3 seasons on, and I have a brilliant, formidable, and 2 excellent.

It takes organisation and patience.

I train forwards but if I had my time over I'd train defenders from the start and have 5 trainees and 3 starters all getting the benefits.

Hey Mad Dogg, have you noticed when you develop trainees it really hurts to sell them because you grow attached to the player? I hate having to sell my trainees. I feel to better my team, my brilliant striker will have to be sold. He will play for Oceania if I keep him but the economic benefits are not there for developing national players. I can't understand why this is so ???????

I haven't really sold many trainees, as I've been concentrating just on training them and not been overly worried about my league position. The guy that I mentioned earlier, Tuaivi Chaudhury, was the only one of note that I've had to sell, and I was very attached to him. All that's starting to change now, over the next two seasons I'll be selling a number of them and boosting my attack and midfield.

How old is your brilliant striker?

My latest youth pull is a future national team prospect:

Pedro El-Abaseri (35933386)
17 years, passable form, healthy
A pleasant guy who is balanced and upright.
Has disastrous experience and wretched leadership abilities.

Nationality: Oceania
Total Skill Index (TSI): 1 340 (268 000 AU$)
Wage: 2 280 AU$/week
Owner: Rockhampton Wolves
Warnings: 0

Stamina: passable Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: poor
Winger: poor Defending: solid
Scoring: inadequate Set Pieces: weak

I now have three 17yo solid defenders to train, all potential national teamers (I've already been asked to keep the Belgium's updated about my guy from there). So my plan to change to playmaking training in two seasons time is being revised, I will probably stick with defence training.
