I agree with Wireman: here's hoping the defeat stings Le Arse into action so they can knock over Chelsea next weekend. And then they can go back to being rubbish again. :D

I thought Almunia's positioning for the third goal was poor. You shouldn't get beaten at your near post in that situation.
thats pretty harsh... considering Nani & Rooney were unmarked running at the far post...

if he pushed to far towards the his near post it would have been a tap in for Rooney or Nani... quite frankly i would have gambled on saving Parks shot instead of Rooney or Nani's.

but i agree that hes not a world class keeper...

If my memory serves me correctly, wasn't there an Arsenal player somewhere in the midst of Rooney and Nani?

If Park did pass it off to Rooney or Nani there was nothing Almunia could have done anyway. What Almunia could definitely have stopped was getting beaten at his near post.

that player was closer to park then nani and rooney..if park passes it, it was a tap in for whoever got to the ball first

Top shelf, hundred-mile-an-hour game. I just bloody hope by hook or by crook we get out this with 3 points. The Toffees are well and truly up for it, despite missing a couple of their usual key attacking midfielders.

As a neutral i don't care either way.. It's a good watch though and watching Mel at half time makes it all the better

I don't know that the Everton players would call it an easy win, but they certainly outplayed United, pushed a lot harder, and were much more keen in their attack on the ball. Deserved win for the Toffees. I don't know if it was a Champions Legaue hangover for us, but it was an insipid performance, and I would not want to have been facing Sir Alex afterwards.

Macheda and Wellbeck will slot into Owen's role. A blow for the poor bastard, but we bought him knowing he was injury prone. He's got further into the season than most would have predicted, and on a free transfer, we could never lose out on the deal.

Rio is due back tonight. Will be only the seventh game this season that he and Vidic have played together, and only one of those was ahead of VDS. Will be fantastic if we can get a run with our first choice defence, especially since Evans has looked shattered lately.

Even more amazingly, Hargreaves is supposed to make his comeback for the reserves next week. Fingers crossed.
