Rodwell from Everton, and Milner from Villa...

Already signed Smalling from Fulham and some Mexican who is obviously gonna be the next Ronaldo...

That will get the world shaking!!! :D

Joe Cole is going on a free though, and if you want a winger so is Pederson from Blackburn...

I would take milner.... can play out wide, but has shown he is a top notch central player. COuld be what we need. Forgot about that Mexican, He could be solid.

In all seriousness about this Mexican chappy, he is supposed to be a quality goal scorer. Given the amount of times we play 1 upfront i can't see him spending 30 million plus on a forward. Especially when we need some creativity from midfield.

Milner is a good player, not the top obviously but he does carry a goal threat from midfield. Him Carrick and Fletch would be a good midfield three.

Well i doubt we will get Milner.

Anybody else think Gill should be sacked? The comments about not caring about the green and gold campaign because lots of Asian fans come out of the mega store and don't understand it.

Spit on my support mate, thanks. When the cycle changes and we are sh*t again, don't ask me to come back while Gill is in charge.

I think the fact he showed he is a good goal scorer will help us, and hopefully a fit Owen, and we have a good looking front line.

Right then.

Its July, pre season starts soon.

Who do you want Sir Alex to bring in? Who would you let leave?

Time for some United discussions!!

What are the views on Joe Cole? Yes/no/depends on wages? He would add some needed flair into the team. A free is always good value.

I would like someone who could go into the team and add goals. Yes Henandez does look like a player but he will need time to settle. Maybe a Benzema or a Van de Vaart from Real. Talk (rumour time) is that Real want Vidic and we may get one of these players in return. Vidic will be replaced by Cahill from Bolton (not the Aussie from Everton)... My choice would be Pato from Milan. Flamini may also be available from them and for the right price (not a lot) he could be worth a look.

Anderson is wanted by a few teams in France, but we may wait to see how he is after injury before we sell. A rumour places him in either Marseille with Valbuema coming the other way or Paris with Sessignon coming to OT...

We will see though...

I don't like our chances of bringing anyone of note in, probably more random Frenchy's
I can see us losing, Anderson, Vidic & maybe Berbatov, should we get a decent offer.

Pato is a brilliant young player but Milan knocked back a 65 million bid for him from Chelski in last summers transfer window.

Cant see him leaving Milan in a hurry.

I'm a huge fan of Benzema and reckon his potential is ridiculous if he gets himself the right team and gets his attitude right. And we'd probably be perfect except for one huge problem - Rooney seems to have established himself as now being a line-leading striker rather than a deeper lying one. I doubt Fergie will change that now, meaning we don't have room for another top striker that plays the same role. If we were to sign a big name striker it'd be one that plays from a deeper position, and while Benzema can play that role he's better up front. It would probably work when we play 442, but one would end up either on the left wing or on the bench when it came to the big games and I can't see either of them being happy with that.

Ozil is somebody who is interesting to me. He's been fantastic in the WC for Germany, only has one year left on his contract at Werder Bremen, said last season that we made contact with him in 2008, and a couple of days ago basically said he wants to join one of the big two in England (us or Chelsea) or Spain (Barca or Real). Barca surely won't have room for him (especially since they're trying to get Fabregas) and if Mourinho has as much control over Real's transfers as I believe he will be more focused on fixing the defence, so it could be down to us or Chelsea if he does end up moving after the WC. Would give us that attacking midfielder to make our 4231/433 work properly that Anderson is looking increasingly unlikely to be, while also being able to play off the left wing when we play 442. Only big question is how consistent he would be in the week-in week-out hustle of the premier league.

As for Joe Cole, I'm not a big fan. A lot of pure talent, but very inconsistent and a bit injury-prone lately. Put it this way - I reckon Chelsea have done a good bit of business in getting rid of Cole and getting Benayoun. Cole at his best is obviously better, but just how often is he at his best? If it was a choice of him or nothing I'd happily take him, but I'd hope we'd be aiming a bit higher if we're looking at that type of player. Ozil for instance.

If Ferguson isn't confident in Hargreaves making a comeback, we need to get someone else to act as cover for Fletcher. As it is we are utterly screwed against top teams if he's injured/suspended/poor form, so getting cover for him is probably the most important thing we can do. Doesn't have to be a top player, just somebody on the level of a Park for that position would be perfect.

Just looked at some of the rumours on manutd.com. Apparently all papers are saying we are making a bid for Wesley Sneijder, which I would take for the central midfield. I think though Benzema is a top player, the way we have been playing is with one up front (obvs Rooney), and we already have adequate cover in Berbatov, Owen, Hernandez, and even Macheda and Welbeck meaning we don't really need him. I think the midfield is the area we need to look at. I would look at Ozil and Sneijder.

I like the look of Sneidjer. I would take him over Ozil purely because he has proved himself on the big stage. We may have to wait for Ozil to adapt and thats not what we need right now. Van der Vaart has also been mentioned in dispatches as a potential recruit. I guess he just brings what Sneidjer does. Not as flashy but a bit more consistent.

With regards to formations how much of that do you think was down to Rooney being awesome, or everyone else being rubbish/injured.

Yes away vs Milan i can see 5 in midfield, but we can't play one up against lower teams can we? Especially anyone from 5th down in the league. I'd like to think we could get a goal scorer, that could even free up Rooney from having to do it all himself, reduce the pressure etc. We used to have partnerships, Cole/Yorke. Cantona/Hughes. Ruud/Rooney.

They work well, we won a treble doing that, 5 partnerships. Central defence, left fullback/winger, right fullback/winger, midfield two, and attacking two. They cover each other in attack and defence.
