Sweet!

Just quietly, you lot better not stuff up in the Derby if we do you a favour :D

Hehe Im hoping we dont stuff up in the derby and you guys do us a favour, still it can more than likely all turn on its head. Derby always a dangerous game, if we continue playing like we have been, we should account for them.

i've got to admit the game worried me, especially with the results that City have had in the last few seasons.

now we have jumped that hurdle. its time for the Christmas/NewYear scramble...with so many games played over this period this is where the title can be all but decided.

They were pretty impressive in both halves. The score could easily have been anything with the opportunities they had. If they can keep that form up, and Rooney keeps clear of brain explosions, they look the team to beat for the Premiership.
We weren't all that good for the first half an hour while we were playing 4-5-1 (there's a time and a place for that system, but playing a 'lesser' team at Old Trafford is not that time), but as soon as Benfica scored the goal we went back to 4-4-2 and started playing some scintillating stuff.

The scary thing is that we're probably playing the best and most exciting football in the world at the moment, and our best player for the last two years (Rooney) is still playing quite poorly by his standards. He's finding it hard to score (I think he's only scored in four games this season - albeit eight goals in those four games), his passing is off the mark and basically most things he tries don't quite come off. If we can get him firing alongside Ronaldo, Scholes, Giggs and Saha then I'd almost start feeling sorry for our opposition.

Oh, and another good win last night against City to take us 9 points clear of Chelsea. Fair enough they've got two games in hand, but it's a position they haven't been in since Mourinho took over. Interesting to see how they react.

"Where are the goals going to come from?"

That quote is starting to look eerily similar to the "You don't win anything with kids" from a decade ago.

Manchester United has secured the signing of former Celtic and Barcelona star Henrik Larsson on a loan deal from January.

The 35-year-old, who currently plies his trade with Helsingborg in Sweden, will join the Red Devils from January 1 on a three-month deal before the start of the Swedish season in mid-March.

"United have been after me before, after the first or second season with Celtic. It feels good to come and play for such a big club. I may not start every match, but it feels like a fun thing," Larsson told bbc.co.uk.

United remain short of forward options with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on the injured list and Alan Smith yet to regain full fitness after missing for the best part of 12 months, with Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha the only recognised strikers at Old Trafford.

Larsson left the Nou Camp at the end of last season to return to his homeland where he helped his club finish fourth in the league and win the Swedish Cup.

The former Celtic star had spent two seasons in Spain and played a significant role in this year's Champions League final, setting up the two goals that defeated Arsenal.

Larsson joined Barca in 2004 after seven seasons at Celtic.

This is good news for us. We do need another person up front, with only the two recognised strikers there.

Lock up you're players around the world as a spending spree is coming when the transfer window opens :D Gotta bridge that gap somehow :D

The Chrsitmas period will determine Man U's fate.

If they can come out of that period with a 5 point lead they are well on their way. By the time the Christmas Period is over its usually 22/23 games in and heading for the straight.

They deserve their 5 point lead at the top at this stage. Although testing trips to Ashburton Grove, Anfield and Stamford Bridge await in the run home.

I agree but disagree at the same time.

We have rooney o shea ronaldo scoring regulary then with other chipping in every now and then we fine.

But i do agree we need somebdoy else up front.

But larsson?????????

Im not sure if he is really what we need he was a great player but im not sure if he is for us, mind you i cant wait to see how he goes its going to be interesting for sure.

With him i think we should be able to increase our 8 point lead.

Mate, Larrson is only there for depth, he is a talented player and I believe he wil compliment our two main younger strikers, might even teach em a thing or two. Don't forget that SAF still wants another midfielder, i reckon they will go hard for hargreaves, if not then i am certain that SAF has his sights set on another midfielder to compliment carrick in the engine room.

All in all, getting someone with Larrsons experience and class can only be of benefit to United.

Larsson will be a great buy, he will be underestimated, ask any barca fan, this guy still knows how to find the back of the net. I thought the same when he was signed but this guy will put a few away for us when we need it, sir alex has his noggin ticking quite well.

Hope we get hargreaves though.
