----------------------------------------------------

someone just needs to point out the previous players "big name" careers turn to epic fails that have been made due to moving to real..eg beckham, owen

sticky situation

united need to stand strong and no budge because has signed a contract committing him to united for 5 years but on the other hand, why would you want a player at your club who doesnt want to be there and cant be trusted to put in 100%..

anyway ronaldo keeps beating around the bush and hasnt clearly stated wtf he wants to do..time for ferguson to confront him and make him decide

pay me ronaldo's salary to be a slave to world football and i wont complain..wtf is he whinging about
-----------------------------------

fifa president is an idiot:

It was only in January this year that Blatter and Fifa reacted angrily to a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on the Andy Webster case.
Earlier, on April 4, 2007, the Fifa dispute resolution chamber found Webster guilty of having breached his employment contract without just cause, outside the protected period. Webster wanted to leave his club, Heart of Midlothian, to play for Wigan Athletic. As a consequence, Fifa ordered him to pay Hearts compensation of £625,000.

Yeah Sanchez is deemed as your Ronaldo replacement.

What would you do if he signed for this mob. That was like when Pandev was linked to the Toots *holds gun to head*

this is what Man U should have played on. turn the tables on Real. why not say to real...okay, if you are for real about signing him offer us 80 million pounds + a couple of high profile players. cause the unrest in Real's squad as they all squirm over the 'loyalty' of teh club towards their current players.

what a nice bloke Fergie is

A Premier League spokesman tonight said: "We confirm we have received complaints from Tottenham in relation to alleged breaches of Premier League Rules K3 and K8, which govern approaches to contracted players.

"The Premier League board will now write to the parties concerned to ask for their observations before considering the appropriate course of action."

United have issued a brief response to Tottenham's claims.

A spokesman said: “We are aware of the allegation and will co-operate with the Premier League as necessary.”

So what are Premier League Rules K3 and K8,?

K3 The FA may publish information relating to Representation Contracts between
Authorised Agents and their clients such as the identity of the relevant parties to the
contract (Authorised Agents, Players and Clubs). As a general rule, The FA will not
publish any details over and above those set out here without the consent of the
parties to a particular contract
or FIFA

K8 Where appropriate, The FA may refer certain matters in connection with the
Regulations to another National Association and/or FIFA for resolution. This will
generally only apply where a Club, Player or Agent involved in the matter is subject to
the jurisdiction of the other National Association and/or FIFA.

he slams Ronny in the media for not showing loyalty, while he tries to poach players from other teams illegally through the media instead of approaching their club

f**king hypocrite

umm he did approach berbatov..he went to see spurs personally with the bid in toe..plus berbatov isnt the worlds best player at the moment is he? no he isnt..

why would spurs say they want a bid of 30 mill before they accept..where as united dont want any bid for ronaldo..

Although there was a Scottish flag on the wall, it was hardly the most appropriate setting for Sir Alex Ferguson to state that the world's most famous footballer would be staying with the world's most famous football club...

The room in which the United manager revealed that, following a meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo last week, the forward would be remaining at Old Trafford....

"I was on my holiday and I was not going to interrupt it, believe me, for the very simple reason that the boy is under contract. The strengths and the rights are with Manchester United. What I said to Cristiano will remain private. It was very amicable, there were no problems, so we carry on. There is no problem for Manchester United, or for me as the manager."

John Bostock anyone?! There's your hypocrisy Twizzle.

Aside from that, by rejecting United's official complaint against Real Madrid FIFA have made it clear that name dropping in the media is fine.

knew you'd bite Jay

Bostock was 15 at the time we approached him which is not just fine, its legal, he has to be a senior (over 16) for that rule to apply.

Aside from that, by rejecting United's official complaint against Real Madrid FIFA have made it clear that name dropping in the media is fine.

no it aint, its not fine, or is it legal

Good to see Levy and Spuds standing up to the tapping up of Berbatov.
Funny, weren't the Rags accusing Real of the same crime? Hypocritical merkins of the highest order.

We know that it's been going on for years and with Poll the f**king arsehole's admission the other week about dodgy refereeing decisions to further careers it makes you wonder if there's any point trying to compete at all.

Can't wait to stuff you merkins in the Derby again this year, and I'll be there in the flesh to see you crying into your prawn sandwiches.

Chairman speaks out

There has been substantial speculation in respect of the futures of Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane, including press comment from both Sir Alex Ferguson and Rafa Benitez. In response our Chairman, Daniel Levy has made the following statement:

"Today's public comments by Manchester United's manager, announcing that he has made an offer for Dimitar and is confident that the deal will go through with time working in their favour, is a blatant example of sheer arrogance and interference with one of our players. It is also probably one of the worst offences by any manager in the Premier League to date and is unbelievably hypocritical given his recent comments in respect of Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid.

"This comes after a series of events, dating back to last summer, which have shown Manchester United to be in breach of Premier League (PL) rules. As a result, we have today made an official complaint to the PL about the conduct of Manchester United. Benitez made similar comments in respect of Robbie recently and we made an official complaint to the PL about the conduct of Liverpool earlier this week.

"The behaviour of both clubs has been disgraceful. We told both clubs very early on that we had no interest in selling Robbie or Dimitar, respectively, and that they should refrain from pursuing the player. Both clubs arrogantly chose to ignore this request and we now have evidence that both clubs have systematically been working to prise the players away from us, outside of PL rules of conduct.

"Our subsequent position has been severely compromised by both clubs making their intentions widely known and indeed making contact with the players and their agents, without the Club's permission.

"I have absolutely no wish to sell either player and to date we have not accepted any offer for either. However, when a player's head is turned and their commitment is absent, particularly when they occupy key positions such as that of striker, they become a negative influence in a team dressing room in which they were once a positive addition and influence. This is the situation we now have on our hands, with both Dimitar and Robbie having made it clear that they wish to leave for Manchester Utd and Liverpool respectively.

"Irrespective of the outcome and futures of Robbie and Dimitar, we are continuing to seek to bring in quality, talented players for the future, who want to play in a Spurs shirt."

its fair game if FIFA allowed madrid to be bastards in the media..

difference is

spurs - "we want 30 million before we sell"
united - "not selling ronaldo at any price"

spanish media have taken pressuring a player to unsettle him to new heights..

2 different cases

Fergie goes to war over Berbatov allegations
Sir Alex Ferguson is considering legal action against the Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy as Berbatov row continues

SIR ALEX FERGUSON is considering legal action against the Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy as the row over Manchester United’s pursuit of striker Dimitar Berbatov threatens to escalate into an ugly confrontation between the clubs. Ferguson is incandescent about a statement by Levy in which he branded the United manager “unbelievably hypocritical” and accused him of “sheer arrogance”.

Levy has also made a complaint to the Premier League regarding Ferguson’s conduct in his attempts to sign Berbatov, for whom United have bid £20m. United indicated last night that this would be vigorously contested.

At the centre of the argument are quotes attributed to Ferguson in The Sun, which he categorically denies having given. The newspaper quoted Ferguson as saying he was confident of signing Berbatov. Levy interpreted this as “interference” with regard to his player, labelling it “probably one of the worst offences by any manager in the Premier League to date”.

However, Ferguson, speaking in Cape Town after United drew 1-1 with Kaizer Chiefs in the first game of their South African tour, hit back in the strongest terms. “It is going to be very embarrassing for Tottenham because they have based their complaint on a story in The Sun. I don’t know where they got these quotes from, but it certainly wasn’t me,” Ferguson said.

“I haven’t seen [Levy&#8217, post: s statement"] yet. I have just been given the gist of it by our press officer. But I’m sure our legal people will be looking at it.”

Unless it can be proved that Ferguson made the comments in dispute, Levy could find himself defending a defamation case. However, last night Tottenham said that they stood firmly by the statement.

In all likelihood, the row has strengthened United’s chances of signing Berbatov, who joined Spurs in May 2006 for £10.9m. Levy was determined to play hardball over the 27-year-old Bulgarian striker, for whom he is thought to be seeking £30m, but he may have to be more accommodating should he find himself trying to persuade Ferguson not to sue.

Barcelona are also interested in Berbatov and are reported to be ready to offer Tottenham £24m for his services.

I know this must be a tad embarrassing for you Twizzle, so I won't hold it against you if you quietly sneak back to the Spurs thread and pretend this never happened.
