WTF?? the guy is an idiot... why not just ban contracts all together.... i find it bloody disgraceful that this is coming from the head(or arse) of fifa.. the same guy that wanted to ban a bloke for life for a reckless challenge.

What Blatter said wasnt that bad:

I'm always in favour of protecting the player and if the player wants to leave let him leave.

"If the player wants to play somewhere else, then a solution should be found because if he stays in a club where he does not feel comfortable to play then it's not good for the player and for the club

Thats right.

Do you guys really want someone playing for you who doesnt want to?

Seems Cristiano Ronaldo is bigger than theteam IMO.

He called soccer players modern day slaves :lol::lol: pay me how much they get and i'd love to be a "slave" what Blatter has said is an insult to every person who has ever been put through slavery. Why don't we just get rid of contracts all together, that way every player can hold the club to ransom whenever they want, the club must remain bigger than the players always otherwise all i see is chaos. He is not a slave he signed a contract willingly, knowingly of his own free will and if United choose to make him honour it he should have no choice, a contract ffs!

meh, the slaves thing was just to grab a headline. The real substabce to what he was saying is that if a player wants to leave, a solution should be found because forcing a player to stay at a club benefits nobody.

And you are right, if United choose to keep him to a deal, he will have to honour it. But why pay huge money to a guy that doesnt want to be there? Great for morale......

Straight out of the mouth of Sir Alex...almost exactly what he said.

Who are you again? I'd swear you were a dipper the way you are putting sh*t on our top player.

f**k no..im united through and through...he says he doesnt want to be at united..then stuff him, i dont want any player in a united shirt that doesnt want to be in it..spoilt lil b!tch can go ruin his career at real madrid..just like beckham did..

the ball is in our court and we can hold real madrid to ransome

ronaldo does not make united, UNITED MADE RONALDO..ronaldo thinks he is bigger then united..well he isnt, we will be better off without him..and it will just open the door for rooney to take it to another level and we will see new prospects start to deliver

Ronaldo can sit on the bench all year for all i care just as long as we don't sell him to Madrid, its a point of principle that we must win.

Im actually surprised he'd want to play in the same league as Lionel Messi. Because now he'll get shown up week to week as far from the world's best player.

No team should hold a player to ransom, not because of 'slavery' but because it's bad for the club and the players career.

Hleb wanted to move on, we let him, Adebayor wants to, we seem ready to let him go. It will in no way help your club if he stays. Just let him go, Vossy is 100% right.

I would agree if he didn't just sign a 5 year contract last year, i don't see how we're holding the player to ransome we're simply making him honour his contract. Which he signed willingly which means the commitment to the club was of his own choice, the other thing that annoys me about this situation is the way Real Madrid have courted Ronaldo, it would be unacceptable if United folded. Another thing Real Madrid haven't even launched a formal aproach for Ronaldo, maybe they should... if they really want him.

And that's why Arsenal wont win the premier league this year.

how dare you even mention Hleb & Adebayor in the same sentance as Ronaldo...

id like to see any of your guys clubs sell the WORLDS BEST PLAYER when hes going into his peak.

i mean look at the fuss Bayern went through to hold onto Hargrieves before they finally sold him.... and hes not even half the player Ronaldo is...

imo we should play him for as long as we can...

i disagree... thats wrong... it has nothing to do with whether the player is bigger than the club... its pretty simple really...

we signed Ronaldo to a 5 year contract to play football for Man United... Manchester united have every right to follow through with what was agreed. hes a professional athlete so he can act like a professional and do his job until his contract runs out or BOTH parties come to an agreement over a termination of his contract.

if his dream was to goto Madrid then he shouldnt have signed a 5 year contract last year. or he could have atleast put a buy out clause in it...

the thing that sepp 'piss bag' seems to forget is that it goes both ways... we signed Ronaldo last year to a 5 year deal and if he played like a busted arsehole this year and then got a longterm injury we couldnt send him packing without his permission because both parties entered the agreement in good faith...
