Use this thread to list all the great ideas MG has for improving our game. Creating a thread is the only way I can keep track of his laugh-a-minute ideas.

1. Referees should hold press conferences after every game to explain their decisions.(Sunday Roast 2009)
2. On Glenn Stewarts suspension before Origin " He should be given the choice of missing one origin match - or 8 NRL matches" (Sunday Roast 2009)
3. The Warriors should be kicked out. (RLW 2007)
4. Tries from scrums should be worth 5 points (Sunday Roast 2009)
5. Introduction of the 'Mercy' Rule once a side reaches 50. (Sunday Roast 2009)
6. Dummy half can't get tackled with the ball.(Sunday Roast 2009)

Keep it going guys !

Yesterday's 'tries from scrums should be worth 5 points' was up there with one poster's idea on here of regulating bombs.

Good ole MG. Means well...not afraid to step on toes, but he doesnt think things thru sometimes.
His call that players should be able to miss like 8 club games instead of an origin was a pearler. I am sure the Cowboys would fully endorse Thurston missing 8 club games....or the Panthers with Civoncieva.

Never heard that 5 point from scrums one before, but I don't mind it. Gives a team incentive to put on a great play from the scrum.

He said something about no dummy half running inside your own half or something along those lines a few weeks back.

To his credit, he dose own up usually when he is wrong.

But last year when he called for only 4 Sydney teams. Nth, Sth, East and West. Stupid idea. Would fit in well with some people on here.

MG's a legend. Most of the sh*te he says is tongue in sheet and just to stir the pot. Its the same with Gus Gould. He says a lot of crap just to stir Vossy up.

Go back to you Mini and Mod League days. 3 points for a dummy half try and 5 for more then 2 passes. Not that bad an idea. Everyone whinges about the staleness in attack, then as soon as someone throws up an idea on how they think we could fix it, people cut them down.

4. Tries from scrums should be worth 5 points (Sunday Roast 2009)
He also mentioned 5 point trys for trys which are started from there own quarter.
But I have to say that I am a fan of these proposals. What’s wrong with it?? As much as some people on this forum hate to think, but our game has to evolve all the time. Rugby League is not perfect and we have to look at new rules and systems consistently in order try and improve the sport of Rugby League both as a spectacle and a sport in general.

I've been watching and listening to Big MG all year and although I find him funny and passionate, however day by day he tends to contradict himself. If someone has one good game.... he usually calls for their rep inclusion This year alone at different stages he's had Campese, Sutton and more recently Soward at 5/8th.

He's also had about 13 different players in his forward pack, but he's become a genuine character in his post footy career, he says stuff like laksadaisy, sleight of foot, he's no rocket surgeon, chooken, Bullfrog the great matriarch of the Bulldogs club etc... this stuff is genuine gold, and although I usually disagree with almost all his radical ideas, I actually enjoy a belly laugh while listening to him.

At the moment Gus and MG are the only 2 'footy heads' i can listen too.

Sure MG throws a lot of sh*t up but most of it someone else uses 6 months to a year later and claims it as theres.

MG i think was the first to say origin has to have an independant coach.

He also said no tries from cross field kicks inside opponents quarter line....bye bye Izzy Folau

Also cut the interchange to 6...not bad

His latest on radio was if a dummy half runner is caught with the ball inside their opponents half it's a change over

And the Warriors kicked out was out there, but along with Gus i must say MG at least says whats on his mind where others (all commentators) are scared of retaliation.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed but a deadset league lover at least.

There's no way in hell Lockyer would have been fined $50,000 for taking a girl back to his hotel room. So why Joel Clinton? Because Brisbane thought they paid $50,000 in overs.

"Brisbane should hand him a brown paper bag at Christmas and apologise."
