WTF...... did you even read the topic Ron?

Def FX ???? I think they have let go seeings how they broke up almost 10 years ago.

are Ratt still going?...who'd have thunk it...cause you never ever hear anything about them ever...apart from you sprogging on about them.

Yeah i did, and i can't see the problem.

Ratt's demise is well-documented, get out of the OZ music sh*t and do more research into US groups;-)

I think you will find that the topic is about bands that used to be great but are now sh*te and continue to flog a dead horse .
INXS being the perfect example of dead horse flogging.
Def Fx however were not a mighty band.. ever.
I have a couple of their CD's given to me in 92 and I once met Fiona Horne after one of their gigs at Sylvania...so I do know who they were.
They split in 97
How is it they are not letting go?

..and my CD collection boasts a healthy range of US & international bands .
Sorry, no Ratt....I wouldn't let music with lyrics written by 12 year old boys get past the front door.

Live. Used to be fantastic (Mental Jewellery, Throwing Copper, Secret Samadhi were all great albums) but the crap they put out now.....sheesh.

Iron Maiden. Don't get me wrong, I actually kinda like their new stuff, but they should have quit a long time ago.

DEF FX were great, their 2 or 3 albums they had were unbelievable, I like many was upset they quit!!

Ratt were awesome songwirters, just listen to the lyrics to back for more or Lack of Communication:D

You love Ratt and 80's rock, you're just in denial.

The Cars have reformed without Ric Ocasek.

The Dead Kennedys are playing without Jello Biafra.

They're the two I can think of.

The Dead Kennedys without Jello are a joke just like the Misfits without Glenn Danzig.

That hack Jerry Only has turned the Misfits name into a brand and he is more focused on making money out of gimmicky merchandise than making good music (which he isn't capable of anyhow).

Define "mighty bands"...

Because, for argument's sake...Both Korn and Limp Bizkit were once tremendously popular...But have been absolute garbage for ages now...

yeah well i bought there albums, its was the 'in' thing to do!

they have definitely gone downhill

As much as this will go against my teenage years and mates - Pearl Jam are not what they use to be:(

Even U2, acroos all there work. Zooropa was a changing point then that last album. probably one or two good songs - the rest CRAP!

I actually disagree about Maiden there Skeepe - one of the few bands still releasing quality after 20 years.

Have you heard their Brave New World album? Ghost of the Navigator is one of the greats and it was only released a few years ago!

Of course, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son remains their opus.

Interesting.

Most of the U2 fanbase think Pop was a brilliant album that sadly was never understood by the general public. If it had been done without the techno irony it would be rated right up there with their 'best' albums.

ATYCLB is great, but it isn't the Joshua Tree (but what is?)

The last album is a bit weak, but still is enjoyable.

I'm going to throw QOTSA out there...I just can't get into the stuff without Nick Olivieri...sure they aren't bad but it's just not the same...

It was a toss-up whether to include them or not. If anything, they would have been more appropriate on this list during the Blaze Bayley era than now, and having just heard A Matter of Life and Death, I'll agree that they still got it.

Anyone who includes Pearl Jam in this is obviously a genius. ALL Pearl Jam concerts are completely different to the last. I truly feel sorry for you Simo.
I bet you watch Australian Idol too, to make that judgement  How about you admit to everyone right now, that you havent got a f**king clue ? I mean, its pretty obvious to the rest of us. Lets face it ... |YOU EVEN rate Van Halen   and yet you criticise Pearl Jam. I didnt realise how f**ked in the head you truly are :)

Way to go not actually addressing the point and just going on with one of your usual incoherent rants. The reality is that Pearl Jam have slipped, Binaural and Riot Act were attrocious albums. Their latest self titled effort is certainly an improvement on the previous two but it hardly compares to early Pearl Jam. Regardless of how they preform live, they haven't produced much in the studio for a while now.

wow what a little tanty, by the looks of what you wrote you come across as a 15 year old girl....I think we know who the idol watcher is here!

That was one of the funniest little tirades ive ever seen....perhaps you need a tissue, didnt realise you were so touchy about a band that quite obviously does not enjoy the same success now as when they did earlier.

As Salivour said, great contribution to the thread.
