The old get me outta here RNC hey. Good to see Connor humbled a bit as well. Now hopefully he'll concentrate on RDA or Hopefully Frankie. Could be a blessing for him as well as he clearly has issues when it goes to the ground.

What was Nate like after the fight?

Nate was Nate haha. First sentence was "I'm not surprised motherf**kers"

They were both very humble after the fight.

thought that would be the case. Usually is with the Diaz boys after a trash filled lead up.

Wonder what Frankie and other are thinking now with Connor taping to Nate. Granted Nate is very good on the ground, but once a chink in armour has been exposed, good opponents will zero in on it.

Conor has been spending a lot of time doing this unorthodox movement training and capoeira stuff, I think he needs to bring it back a little and really focus on the fundamentals, his ground game is not where it needs to be and I know he was rocked and Nate is very good on the ground but that was a little too easy the way Nate got into mount and sinked in the choke.
If he fights Frankie with a limited ground game it won't end well, Frankie is a D1 wrestler with a legit BJJ Blackbelt who's got cardio for days, is durable as hell and has good top control. Frankie also has very good head movement so he's not an easy guy to land a power shot on, Conor needs to figure another way to get it done if he's not nuking guys with that left hand in round 1.

Totally agree Aqua, I think Connor knows that about Frankie as well. indo think Connor wil make the right adjustments in training and get some grappling and and Wrwstling coaches in. He's too intelligent not to.

I still think Frankie and Mendes with a full camp would give Connor a real good fight and RDA @ 155 is an even bigger problem IMO

Wow, what a card that was.

Full credit to Diaz. He took the fight on short notice and came through with a chin of stone.

As has been mentioned - Conor was just stupid in that fight. He was picking Diaz apart in the 1st and for most of the 2nd, then he got cocky and thought he could just stand square with his hands down. Dumb shit really. By the time Diaz lit him up he was too gassed to do anything about it.

He was clearly going for the spectacular knock out with those uppercuts and didn't spend enough time throwing kicks to the body softening him up. Diaz was leaking like a sieve by the end of it, but he still had a clear head. It wasn't arrogance that made Conor for the takedown - he needed to get away from the bombs Diaz was throwing.

Conor has great hands clearly but for someone who goes on about how multidimensional they are I really didn't see it, even before Nate lit him up with straights and jabs he managed to get him against the fence and smash him with dirty boxing, Nate got him in that weird clinch and was punishing him and that's not a position where Nate usually has a lot of success. I said before that I believe the worst nightmare match up for Conor is Khabib, if Khabib got a hold of Conor, it'd be suplex city followed by smothering top game and death by ground and pound, nothing I saw tonight makes me think any different.

Yeah... He needs to fill that giant hole in his game out...

I think his only saving grace is at 145 and 155 he SHOULD be the bigger guy... So not many guys will be able to take what Diaz took.

Yep, I think that McGregor was actually rattled in there from the start. He was wildly throwing punches and kicks that were never going to connect. The Mendes fight was the rhythm Conor should have used against Nate - take your time and punish the body with kicks and punches. Soften him up and then go in for the knockout.

McGregor just went for the knockout straight away.

The veteran put the young bloke back in his lane.

Tate did well too, wouldn't have minded seeing Rousey and Holm have a number 1 contender bout.. Would have been an epic promotion

Anyone picking Cormier over Jones? I just can't see it happening

Me either. Jones seems to be training like a savage and clearly has the hunger to get the belt back.

Cormier said to Jones in an interview with Rogan that he is prepared to die to beat him. Jones told him to be ready for that...

Media is going crazy with rumours of an immediate Diaz/McGregor rematch at UFC 200 in July.

Conor would seriously want to be pushing for it to be scheduled at 155...

Really hope we don't see McGregor Diaz rematch. I want to see McGregor defend his belt. Anyone watch the UFC today? Epic finish from Hunt, Great fight from Magny and Lombard and huge comeback from Dan Kelly. Jake Matthews looks like he has a bright future swell

Just watched the Lombard/magny fight and gee the ref gave both fighters a real good chance to ride out some G'n'P. Could've been stopped in the first for Lombard and the second for Magny. Can't believe the ref didn't stop it in the second tho, magny must've landed 30-40 unanswered shots to Lombards melon

Overall a great card again in Brisbane.

I thought Bec Rawlings barely did enough to win her fight. She gassed early big time and was a sloppy exhausted lumbering mess for most of the fight. Not a great display but did enough.

How great was the old man underdog Dan Kelly coming out on top against Shoe Face? Epic battle and was great to see the old judoka win.

Jake Matthews looks the goods. He's still super young but tough as nails and technically can only get better. Great win for him over a more experienced but overly confident opponent. Those body shots were brutal.

Magny and Lombard was a battle. Like others I think the ref could have stopped it for either earlier but I was kind of glad he gave a little leeway as Magny was clearly still in the fight.

I've said it before about Hunt, but that walk away knockout is not a good move. I actually thought Mir was still in it and the ref called it too early. He definitely was rocked, but he wasn't out and he looked like he was waiting to pull guard. But Mir didn't protest or complain after the fight. I still think Hunt needs to take that out of his game though.

Yep agree RKO, Hunt has been around the fight game long enough to know when no more damage is needed to be given to the opponent.

Was a cracking shot, made such good crack when it connected.
