The link below lists error rates for 250 players. Nathan Cleary is #249. Cherry Evans #86. Foran #92. Jarome Luai #52. Kyle Flannagan #181.

Comparing apples to apples, Hunt at #2 is an appalling performance for a 6 or 7.

And Zac is #1

That's a shitload of errors we lose 2025

Proof will be in the pudding so to speak.

however, I’m more hopeful this year than last for reasons already mentioned. The biggest reasons are that the coach has proven his worth, and we have both more experience and leadership, as well as great juniors on the cusp. Team unity and mentality is the key!

On roster alone we are 100% favourites for the spoon.. we are banking on our super coach improving the players individually and as a team like he did in 2024.. plus luck with injury... but someone has to get the spoon.. there is no sure thing.. and if Benji cant get his roster up a few cogs it'll be the end of him too.. I think it will be the tightest season in years.

But the Mole is off his rocker lately.. absolute dribble he is posting.. loves a cheap shot at us also.
Don't discount the Raiders this year - from what I've heard things aren't super positive in that camp.

My interest in Canberra is in seeing what they do with Tamale. They pinched James Schiller from us when he was going to be a world-beater and he did nothing.

The Dragons will finish 6th - 10th this year depending on injuries.
Players will come from nowhere, Nathan Lawson will become a household name, we will get value out of Corey Allen, the Couchman twins names will be thrown around for Origin, Gutho, Val and Cookie will make their old clubs pay for letting them leave.
2025 is going to be a lot of fun, it won’t shock us the faithful who believe but the casual fans will be blindsided.

Imagine all the uneducated dribble that will come out of the non supporters about the use of drugs etc towards the team & Flanno etc when we do go well.
I’m can’t wait. lol

Lachlan will also have a point to prove.
He has a 2 year deal to resurrect his career after that nasty leg break. We will not be challenging for the spoon. I think we will finish close / just out of the 8.

Lost
Hunt - 30 try assists
Lomax - 5 try assists

Gained
Gutherson - 15 try assists
Holmes - 9 try assists
Cook - 7 try assists

we also lost
Lomax - 50 errors (1st)
Hunt - 43 errors (2nd)
Hunt - 20 kick errors (1st)
Hunt - 84 missed tackles (1st for all halfbacks)
Hunt - 22 try causes (1st for all halfbacks)

Finally - games in 2024 where Hunt/Lomax didnt play - 100% W
Another way to look at this is to assume that Hunt's errors are each separate categories: so we add his errors (43) + kick errors (20) = 63 errors. This means 63 turnovers = potentially 378 more tackles for the other sides. The average game has about 290 tackles. So each side on an average gets 145 tackles per game. 378 ÷ 145 = 2.6.

wtf! So this suggests that last season Hunt surrendered possession worth 2.6 entire game possessions to our opponents.

How did this go on for so long?

The only other half in the top 50 is hynes and even he’s in the 40s. We will be so much better without hunt

You cant really count errors on 6th tackle as they were going to be turnovers anyway. You have just shown the myth that is stats. You can read it or show any which way to tell a story. But not what is in doubt was his poor attempts in edge defence and at times wrong option in attack with a pass and kicking and inability to close or drive out close games when in front.

Sure, stats are all about context and Hunt's defensive deficiencies are also a big factor. Has Hunt at half really been holding the team back so much? This year without him is going to be very interesting.
