I think Manly fans take this hands down

Some times i get confused if this is indeed the Manly forum or the NRL general forum

Anyway Manly fans on the whole are extremely confident of a finals berth this season, is this mis guided confidence??, i mean even i think they will improve but some of their fans are stomping around like prize fools and indicating Jason King is the best prop in the game and John Hopoate is going to challange Maurice Green in a sprint, that Witt is the saviour and that old men Kennedy is the messiah.

Like i said Manly will improve, but some of these fans are setting themselves up for a backlash...

Im Phil Gould and thats my opinion.

Can't exactly say that the Tigpies have been quiet.

King resigning is essential information, especially after the Roosters tried to nab him. If he had been unsigned come June 30 there would be alot of clubs after him.

He isn't the best prop in the game, but he has the potential to be and a fair amount of people outside of Manly know that.

btw 2 threads isn't exactly a flooding of Manly material. Want a kleenex?

mate i think you will find Tigers fans, apart from the light hearted bickering with canberra fans are very low on expectation this season and very realistic, i dont see too many of us marching around like all these manly fans beating their chests

I just remember the days when i used to pump up the Tigers team such as in 2003, when i would proclaim the signings of Robert Miles and co would change the club and the likes of Corey pearson were training the house down and ready to unleash fury, and one last one Terry Hill is lost 2 kilos and is fit and not past his used by date. man the Tigers of 2003 sure were useless.

Where are Manly fans beating their chests? As I said before, two threads with one being fairly significant don't exactly qualify as bragging imo.

After last Saturday, I now understand why Tigers fans are low on expectation.

Everyone except Parra fans

cause anyone with a brain knows that Parra are gunna win each game by at least 70 points and Tahu, Petersen, Grothe and Burt will all score 100+ tries.

Riddell will kick 6,000 goals

T.Smith will be the Australian halfback even with Johns fit at at 100% form

Hindmarsh will captain NSW and Aust.

M.Perenara will be the Kiwi captain

The Dally M team of the year will be
Fullback: McKinnon
Wing: Petersen
Centre: Tahu
5/8: Morris
1/2: T.Smith
Prop: Cannings
Hooker: Riddell
2nd Row: Hindmarsh
Lock: Morrison
Coach: B.Smith

:D

mate i think you have got it wrong, most of us manly fans are very catious with our expectations this season because of the disapointments of the last two.

honest manlys posistion will come down to one thing defence, if we tighten up we could move alot as we were the 4th best attacking side in the NRL however its a big IF on our defence improving enough.

manly fans should be excited--they have spent their salary cap on some quality players--ben kennedy played about as many games as t hill in the past few years--witt couldnt crack it in the gun parra side last year that challanged for the spoon,kite-about no 6 prop at st george--no they got some quality and value for money.peter peters had 3million to spend and spent it at best and less not david jones

No, being down 24-6 to Manly's reggie side means you should be low on expectation.

And then losing to Wests with half of our reggie side on the feild in the second half is a good thing?

Listen idiot. The Roosters don't want King. The bloke is a hack and he's certainly suited to Manly's pathetic pack. King wouldn't make first grade at Easts.

Y'know, I hate Manly.

But....

IMO they bought well in the off-season.

Kite and Kennedy may not be your cup of tea but the rep selectors seem to think that they're pretty good. If Kennedy stays fit, he'll probably be responsible for tearing your side a new brown spot this season.

I think Witt will be a revelation at Manly. The kid can play and he was never given any confidence when at Parramatta by a coach who at times seems not to know his arsehole from his elbow. The kid finished 2003 as the deserved starting half then played PL for the first half of 2004. How is that going to help his confidence when he finally gets the call-up from his coach 11 weeks too late?

Still, I really hate Manly and I hope they come last.

The idea of the game, last time I looked, is to score more points than your opponent.

One word and one number for you RC, Panthers 2003.

I'm not saying Manly will win the comp, god please don't let that happen, but these days it's folly to underestimate a side that can attack because their defence isn't great.

Your kidding arent you, the dogs had no 1st grade players at all and you had basically you full squad minus Schif and Smithy and your going on acting like you beat the benchmark and current best team at full strength.

I went with my mate who is a Raider supporter and he said if the Raiders didnt win they were in for a long season i agreed and said the team you had should put 30 on this PL and Flegg Bulldogs team and you put 28, but at halftime it was only 4-0 to you guys so i wouldnt be getting all cocky that you beat us (our PL and Flegg boys).

I think some of you raiders fans have no idea sometimes, some of you guys after the game where going on like you won the premiership...

My hope is 8th, my expectations is 10th. And I hate to say, I'm one of the more optomistic Manly fans atm. Everlovin' is right that you have to be cautious of attacking sides that may somehow learn to tackle out of the blue. But I'm not getting carried away with that kind of thinking.

Anyway, back to the thread. Canberra fans... But that effort by Hurriflatch has just lifted the Eels
