How to integrate a well known rock song into a sci-fi show -

I will admit I love the use of the sitar.

This is the version that was written but not used in the broadcast -

This just played on my IPOD, loved this song when i was young and remember going to Grace Brothers Bondi Junction and buying the single which i still have in my collection.

Interesting note that Ron Dante is the main singer of the Cufflinks was also the main voice of Archie on all the Archie songs/ records.

Just Like That-ABBA

An unreleased song from ABBA recorded in 1982, there is only bootleg copies floating around, apparently the tapes for the song were stolen from Bjorn's car., that is how the song got leaked to the public. The song was supposed to be released in full on The Visitors deluxe version a few years ago but Benny pulled the plug on it as he doesn't like the song as the chorus does not match up against the verses , which is absolute rubbish because the song flows beautifully and is one of ABBA's best works. So a complete copy of the song sits unreleased in the vaults.
The version i have on my IPOD is slightly different to this, it has the nah nah bits which you here at the start in between the verses and chorus and makes it flow better. I hope a proper version of this song is released as it an absolute gem from ABBA.

I'm not really an ABBA fan but I quite like that. Thanks for posting it Horrie.

Its just a real shame because Agnetha's voice is just beautiful in the song and Michael B Tretow mixed the song for a proper release a few years ago but Benny pulled the plug on it, who knows, maybe it will be released when ABBA finally release the new songs they recordered a couple of years ago.
Just sitting outside at the Marrickville Bowling Club and ELOs Evil Woman just played, i said to my better half it is one regret that i have that i will probably never see Jeff Lynne perform live, ELO is my favourite group and Jeff Lynnes recent output has been amazing.

If Tom Petty was still around you may have got a chance to see him with the Wilburys. Unfortunately that's unlikely to happen now.

As much as love The Wilburys i would like seeing Jeff solo or with his current version of ELO, he was touring England and the US a bit just before covid hit, think he started performing live again in 2014 on the big stage , just before he decided to start doing things live again he did a BBC benifit for kids in need back in 2013, had i known that i would have flown over, he performed Living Thing and Mr Blue Sky, also on the bill which i didnt realise till a lot later was Agnetha with Garry Barlow, think i would have wet myself had Agnetha walked out on stage, would have been two of my favourite artists on the bill at once, Jeff Lynne and one of the ABBA girls.

I can definitely understand that. I totally regret never getting to see The Clash. I have however seen Mick performing with Big Audio Dynamite and Joe with his band The Mescaleros. Not quite the same as The Clash, but at least I've seen them both live and had a great time at both gigs.

Yes at least you got to see them both live even if it wasn't together in The Clash.

Not quite the same but i wanted to see Olivia Newton John live but for years she didn't perform solo, she did The Main Event with Anthony Warlow and John Farnham, i refused to see it, not because i didn't like the two other artist but just wanted to see Olivia perform by her self, luckily i got the chance and saw her a few times, she was totally amazing live.

Jeff Lynne at the Children in Need concert in 2013, he started touring around the UK and US not long after this again. I still get a chill when the choir kicks in for Mr Blue Sky.

Here's a Blast From the Past. Ken Carter "The Mad Canadian" and his rocket car jump from 1982. Of course jumping a rocket car over a replica of the Caesars Palace Casinos fountain wasn't crazy enough for Ken. He wanted the fountain to be filled with alligators and rattlesnakes for good measure. If you enjoy this be sure to check out the feature length documentary about another of Kens crazy jumps called "The Devil At Your Heels"(it's on Youtube).
