The myth of Tim Sheens

So when a premiership winning half you leaves you replace him with a spastic winger/lock/5-8/hooker who has played at halfback not once in his entire career. Yep that ain't sheens' fault. It's mine. Some of you really need some objectivity
Do you even read the posts, how did you get that rant from my reply to you on the subject of Prince…

And seeing you brought it up, who would you have at half?

Objectivity, how about your total obsessive vendetta again Sheens

He had from February 06 to sign a half - and that is when it was public he was gone. It was in the gossip columns that Prince to Gold Coast was a done deal the week after the GF. It was spot on. Who would I have signed ? Not my job. But I do know the following halves were available/gettable. Crucially they all had experience of playing halfback.
- Lewis
- Finch
- Monaghan
- Kimmorley
- Seymour
- Mullen
- Long
- Pearce (would have come in a heartbeat if we made a play)

Also crucially they can also kick, unlike the clown he signed. A good kick can turn a poor set into a good one and we have lots of poor sets due to our lack of size. Monaghan has a massive boot on him

We should have thrown a junior in there and waited for the 'great halfback sale of '07' instead of settling for 'he was the best available'

So you're 22 but my perception about you being a johnny new fan is wrong and you have been in fact been a match attending fan for 50 years. Like i said mug, when football becomes more than a venue you go to occasionally with a t shirt dedicated to a mediocre tard of a player with a bunch of mongs then have a chat

Thank you for also clearing up the fact that watching on a plasma makes you a better fan than watching on a CRT. Incidentally, where does viewing on an LCD monitor rank. And if 2 fans are watching on a plasma, is it he with the biggest plasma who is the most loyal.

Listen mug, when you shell out week after week and spend hours shleppping to penrith or brookvale or campbelltown or canberra or townsville or brisbane or newcastle or melbourne watching a f**king and football is more than an event to wear your FWO t shirt with your geniused mates then you can vent your f**king spleen at having to watch utter ku9ts like fitzhenry, morris, moodie, o'hara etc get picked by their clown coach to make the same f**king mistakes week after week after week

Get back to popping zits and getting a load out over the readers' wives section of People

This has to be one of the saddest things I've ever come across on this forum.

When you're not trudging around the countryside trying to be noticed by football team that you apparently hate, or logging on to an internet forum to demonstrate your insurmountable knowledge of the way they run their shop (not to mention showing off your winning smile), what do you get up to?

Got a life, anyone?

Please….how about sticking to players who were off contract and available at that time….

And as for Once a Month Finch and Park Player Seymour….yeah right

Ronald said at the Balmain AGM last yr:
`I could get Finch and Monaghan as they'd be granted releases no problem ... and my young bloke is best mates with Mullen from NSW u19'
Any of those 3 are better than Morris
As is Seymour who was good enough for the Broncos side at 17

Exactly, releases from their clubs, at what price Monoghan, he wasn’t on the cheap at Manly either,
and Finch better, maybe once a month if we were lucky, and thats your opinion,
and Seymour…. so what about what he did at 17, he has also been shafted from club to club since, and even played some park footy this year…really hot property...

Please provide further particulars as to:

1. How such players are better than Morris; and
2. How the musings of an old man at a meeting could in any way be regarded as reliable.

Otherwise such comments as those above lack credibility...

This halfback debacle has cost us this season.

John Morris, although a fantastic defender and enthusiastic player, should never have been signed to this club.

We needed a halfback. We didnt get one, still dont have one and have no money left to get one. This people, is a MAJOR f**kUP.

Morris would be playing park footy if he was picked on form not to justify his coach signing him ... Finch, is a halfback, with a massive boot that would have been a better option than Morris. Monaghan would have been relatively cheap last yr .. around 220-250k.

Josh Lewis was available four months ago (this season).

He's young, has a massive boot on him, very good kicking game, most importantly he is an ORGANISER.

Further, he's a Balmain junior.

Josh Lewis is the one that irks me most. Wouldn't have cost much and like hybrid said a massive massive boot on him. Leichhardt Wanderers junior as well. And last i saw Finch is playing in the halves at a side virtually guaranteed a home final and has played in 2 grand finals and origins already. He's no world beater and can be very off his game at times but is a better player than Morris

What could have been...

Everyone seemed to pick up a gun halfback except us, the club who most desperately needed one. Sickening.

Don’t tell me what you think Monoghan would have cost..
What is he earning at Manly?
The cap dosent work on what you think he would have cost

He was earning 220k at Manly then. Manly wanted shot of him early last year and Ronald said `they'll release him no problem' when i said `isn't monaghan under contract'. So i'm telling you what he was on then and what it would have taken to get him. But you continue with your head in the sand attitude and acceptance of the mediocrity of the J Morris experience

He is one of the glaring weak links
Along with Fitzhenry
Moodie earlier on
And Galea since about Round 8
If you think Morris isn't a weak link then you are kidding
