This is precisely my point re sheens/morris. Winning the comp in 2005 seems to make him immune from being questioned and analysed by these head in the sand clowns. How long do you give him before he is called to account over what has happened since ? This is a low comp and we are battling to get in the 8. And when you ask questions all people can do is mention 05 and don't confront the present issues. It would be like going out with a girl who keeps referring to a blow job she gave you 2 years ago to evidence her proclamation you still have a heap of sex

7 or 8 clubs for McDonnell, now vicious we all like partying occasionally and whilst out some of us like to indulge in some whacky substances. Do you mean NRL clubs because I am racking my brains at who those 7 clubs would be:
Bronx - Hunt
Storm - Slater
Cowboys - Bowen
Easts - Minichello
Manly - Stewart
Saints - Hornby/Morris
Soufs - Merritt (possible)
Parra - Hayne/Burt
Dogs - Patten
Warriors - McKinnon (best fullback in comp)
Knights - Gidley
Canberra - Zillman (class young player)
Penriff - Wesser
Titans - Campbell/Mathers/Rogers
Cronulla - no settled fullback so perhaps

I can see 2 clubs at best (both strugglers) who would be remotely interested in him. All he has is pace and we have seen he has hands that are suspect at best. It is no coincidence we have won 3 from 22 with him playing. We may as well have had you or I at fullback and the team wouldn't have won any less than when junior burger plays

I am a FAtz fan and at the end of the day, 2 time premiership winning centres that average a try every 2 games are few and far between, hence an ordinary lug like matt king even going for some obscene amount.

On roughly $100,000 per season, that these days is only regarded as a fringe/back up player, not a first stringer as you are suggesting.

The minimum wage is now 55k under the RLPA CBA. That is for players in the Top 25. 100k for a back up fullback is pretty decent wedge and there aren't many reserve graders on 100k (R O'Hara excepted). Still we should be grateful that, having missed every available halfback and signed an average utility to play half, we have found enough to sign the recruitment manager's kid for 100k a yr on the back of the side winning 3 from 22 that he has played

As Ben Elias said in his book you would have asked questions if any coach could not have won comps with that Canberra side. Belcher, Daley, Meninga, Stuart, Clyde, Walters, Lazarus etc etc etc. Sticking my neck on the chopping block I would say Nathan Brown, Alan Jones and Ken Shine would all have won comps with that side

Those blokes (well the core of them) were at Canberra in 86 under Bennett and Furner, Sheens got there in '88 and won 3 GF's with them, funny how neither Bennett nor Furner could win GF's with them isnt it. Sticking your neck on the chopping block is quoting Benny you tool.

Well who couldn't have won a comp with that side. It's like people who go on about Bennett winning in 92 with a side that had Langer, Walters, hancock, carne, Renouf, Lazarus, Walters (kewwed), Cann etc. Not to mention that when Canberra won in 89 they were also over the cap. How did Sheens go in Townsville and (omitting 05) how has Sheens done with the Tigers ?

Why don't we look at some other coaches records here as well?

Anyone got a rundown of win/loss ratios, no. of premierships & no. of years coaching etc for all current coaches in the NRL?

That could make this conversation a little more interesting...

What a load of garbage.
You are right the signing of Morris was a masterstroke, Fitzy deserves his place, bringing back moodie a stroke of genius and all my rants about those 3 failures are because I'm not over 89. Still eh .. at least I was alive the last time my half of the JV made a grand final
That was for FP btw
Morris signing a masterstroke, Fitzy deserves his place, bringing back Moodie a stroke of genius…where Mulvi, where, where, where, where, where you silly fool did I even say any of this…read posts before you shoot your mouth off you idiot. [-X [-X

I told you back in post 61 to read the posts and not rant on about things that were not even said…or do you just like to make things up so you can rant and stroke your own ego…

My point is, all those mentioned (and extremely questionable) decisions have been made by the coach. Yet you choose not to question the quality of job he is doing. My point is that those 3 points exemplify exactly what Tim Sheens has done at the WT except for 16 weeks in the back half of 06. Happy with this week's team ?

racist comments don't do you any more justice than the usual dribble you come out with...

there's a difference between having a discussion and having a vent or a vendetta.

can you spot it?

A vendetta would be criticising him on the basis he hasn't made significant errors which should call his tenure into question. Racism ? I was referring more to the political climate in a country where criticism isn't tolerated you ignorant coastie stain

I have no problem with the signing of Morris, Fitzy was in great form early in the season though has slipped on form recently, but provided he stays on the wing I have no problem with him at the moment and yes, Moodie was an idea that didn’t work, and the problem was solved…

Believe me, what you have is a vendetta

You have no problem with the signing of a solid utility player to fill the void of a nippy organising half??? f**k, I do.

Fitzy will never be a great winger. He is an uncordinated fool who looks out of his depth each and every week

Yeah the Moodie problem was solved... but not before that chain smoking twat cost us 4 competition points!

I can't blame Morris for his play this year, he is not a halfback yet he is being put there week after week after week. He then is moved to 5/8 where he is decent, but again, its not his preferred position. In my opinion, play him off the bench or in the centres (he can hit a hole well).

Spot on. The only people who accept fitzy, moodie and morris are those happy to accept mediocrity. Sheens had from Feb 06 (possibly Nov 05) to plan for the fact Prince was leaving. Fail to plan and then plan to fail. We got no one and Tim Shines threw 230k at a mediocre parramatta utility to slot into the spot previously filled by an organising, nippy, natural footballing, churchill medal winning half.

But of course the mugs `can't see a problem' with it

The majority of Raiders players mentioned were developed by Sheens and his staff.

They don't go from talented teenagers to Kangaroos without good development, and that's exactly what he did. Only Meninga and Belcher had the runs on the board by the time they got to Canberra.

The Raiders had cap issues in '90, not '89, but I guess you can blame Balmain's loss on that if it makes you sleep at night. Harrigan and the crossbar are getting tired, right?

Yep they were all donkeys that Daley, Clyde etc and in their second year of rugby league shines won them a comp. They were a once in a generation crop like the lot that Parramatta had in the early 80s. Alan Jones could have coached them and they'd have won a comp. Can you look up Shines' win ratio since 95 for me and let me know his win ratio ?

Meninga, Chicka, Walters, Jackson and Belcher played for the Raiders for the two seasons before Sheens got there when they ran near last both times, Daley was not contracted to any club and personally spotted by sheens in Junee at a carnival, Lazarus a local junior was developed. They then went on to play in 4 GF, win 3 Prems and finish in 8/9 semi series.

Why you only want his record since 95?? How about we do it from 2005 onwards?? How about we look at your hero Marshalls record from 2006 onwards (not real fair eh!)??

You dont need a long neck!
