The NRL's Most Fickle Fans

I'd like to know which team other forum watchers consider to be the NRL's Most Fickle.

Fickle, being: 1: marked by erratic changeableness in affections or attachments; 2: liable to sudden unpredictable change; "erratic behavior"; "fickle weather"; "mercurial twists of temperament"; "a quicksilver character, cool and willful at one moment, utterly fragile the next"

Consider;
  • ALL teams' coaches & playing staff cop a bagging after a loss
  • ALL losing teams' fans have a scapegoat (more than one, depending on the loss)
  • ALL supporters hate losing key players from their roster
However, I think there are one or two standout groups of supporters (& yes, I generalise here) who all seem to be ball-tearingly obnoxious when they win, & moronic when they lose.

Which team's fans deserve the title of the NRL's Most Fickle?

sharks fans are as fickle as they come...just look at the reactions after the souths loss!

South Sydney without a shadow of a doubt. Look at all the bandwagoners who marched for their re-entry and look at their pathetic crowd figures.

Then again I think most of those that marched were just people going for the sake of the game, and now, if they are anything like me, have changed their mind and realise the NRL were right in banishing them originally,.

Well it can't be the Roosters cause cardboard can't have emotion or feeling, so i would say based on talkback callers you listen to, the Dragons. That maybe just because more dragons supporters ring up radio stations than other supporters, but i know every time the Dragons have a shocker, i prepare myself for hours of dragons supporters....

Whilst dragons supporters have the right to be frustrated - i'd hardly call them fickle. Being fickle implies that their feelings/opinions of towards the team changes. And all dragons fans i know, for as long as i can remember, have been in one state - frustrated .

Hard to say with Sharks fans, because unless you go to Shark park, your unlikely to ever meet one......

Newcastle.

A few years ago they barely got a bus load of fans to come down to watch a semi final after Johns was injured the week before.

Pffft. Did you watch the game? It was one of Cronulla's most inept efforts in history. Fans are quite right to stick to boot into the coach and certain players.

Not the Melbourne ones, some are willing to travel up to north QLD just to see them play.

 Stop it, ur killing me. If we're fickle, then why the f**k have we constantly been getting 16,17,18000 fans to our games this year?? And also, if we're fickle, how did we get 12,000 there last week when it was sh*thouse weather???

Oh it's Parra!
When we are losing only the die hards will turn up to watch us. Prime example a lovely afternoon in May Vs Nth QLD (Mothers day) a pathetic crowd of 7000 which is the game that I put down to our Season turn around.
But ohhhh when we are winning we'll get together in our masses and chase the team accross the country. Example the Parra Vs Knights game at EA Stadium with the Parra chant followed by the You-can't-score (to the tune of New-cas-tle) It's quite unbelievable I don't know of another group of fans that swings from one extreme to another quite the same way the B&G army do. Bit embrassing really but we've got enough core supporters to get us through the tough times.

Come on man the weather wasnt to bad for the 1st grade game but I agree with you when you say that the Knights fans arent fickle, they are truely loyal to there team, I mean who would really watch a football team if it had the problems that the Knights have had this year, only the real supporters!
