 WHO IS THE WARRIORS' BEST CENTRE

BRENT TATE _VS_ JEROME ROPATI

Find out who is the Warriors' best centre. After 26 Rounds of NRL Footy, this burning question will be answered, along with these other questions...

Who knows his sh*t, NZ Wazza or Ozbash?
Who can tell a Centre, from a Centre's arsehole?
Does NZ Wazza accept Fonterra cheques?
Which Australian City should NZ Wazza hide in, if he loses this bet, to avoid paying Ozbash?

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:

1) Both Brent Tate & Jerome Ropati have to be named and take the field in the centres. Any games where said players take the field out of position or on the bench, do not count towards the final points tally.

2) Games do not count towards the final points tally where one said player is injured or unavailable and does not take the field.

3) Points tally to be taken within the regular NRL season and final tally will be taken at the end of the regular season. Finals games are not counted. The player with the most points, wins for their Supporter (NZ Warrior or Ozbash) NZ$100 from opposing Supporter.

RULES OF POINTS SCORING:

1) Brent Tate & Jerome Ropati are hereinafter referred to as Opponents. Said players score points based on the following:

+2 points for outscoring his Opponent in a game
(+1 each if scores are the same)
+1 point for most tackles over his Opponent in a game
(+0.5 each if tackle count is the same)
+1 point for most metres gained over his Opponent in a game
(+0.5 each if metres gained is the same)
+1 point for most line breaks over his Opponent in a game
(+0.5 each if line breaks is the same)

-1 points for most errors over his Opponent in a game
(-0.5 each if errors count is the same)
-1 points for most missed tackles over his Opponent in a game
(-0.5 each if missed tackle count is the same)

STATS TO BE TAKEN FROM NRL.COM

2) Points to be tallied after each game. Whichever player has the most points wins that round. 2 points go to the winner of each round. If points tally from a game is the same, both players are awarded 1 point each.

WORKING EXAMPLE:
End of game: Player Stats

BRENT TATE = 3.5 points
1 try (+2)
15 tackles (+1)
233m gained (+1)
2 Line Breaks
2 errors
3 missed tackles (-0.5)

JEROME ROPATI = -0.5 points
0 tries
10 tackles
137m gained
4 Line Breaks (+1)
3 errors (-1)
3 missed tackles (-0.5)

TATE WINS ROUND AND IS AWARDED 2 POINTS.

I hope that's as clear as mud, Ozbash. Let me know if you disagree with anything or want something changed. Could a Mod be so kind as to "Sticky" this, please.

Otherwise, let the game begin!!!

LEADER BOARD AFTER ROUND 2:

JEROME ROPATI 2
BRENT TATE 2

IT'S ALL OVER!!!
DRAW, BITCHES!!!
I'LL GET YOU NEXT SEASON, OZBASH!!!

And my winnings are going towards MDH.

I'll post the results in the 1st post, after each game.

This is gonna be great fun. Here's hoping both players have an injury-free season, so that it's a fair fight.

But when you shake hands, make sure you spit on your hand. Makes it a lot funnier that way.

Personally I reckon stats are everything in cricket and nothing in league.

Regardless of what the numbers might've said, Ropati was brilliant last night, much better than Tate.

I see your point, and agree with it somewhat. But this is a bet, with a Hundy riding on it. I'd much rather rely on stats, than rely on a bunch of forumers trying to rate a player's performance.

This season, with the acquisition of Kemp, I hope we will see more action down Tate's side. Ropati has Vatuvei to thank for the amount of space and ball he gets.

Another thing the stats show is that in spite of getting a lower percentage of the ball to his side, Tate is no slouch and does plenty of work.

It was a very good game from Tate. You may not be wrong there, Ozbash. He was just everywhere today.

This is going to be a great battle. But Tate cleaned house today.
