Didn't need him to make a massive difference. We were only 4 points from 8th.He would have made a massive difference. Probably would have finished in the Top 4!

Like when we lose or miss out on any other player. It’s just that in most cases the contract value isn’t publicised. But you can re/sign any player if you beat the second best offer. That’s how Fa’asuamaleaui ended up at the Titans. No - Our underperforming 5/8 received an offer from the Knights that virtually everyone has called ‘desperate’ - one which puts him in the earning bracket of world class players - a bracket that he doesn’t currently belong in.
Rather than match that ridiculous offer and risk losing more important players we prioritised keeping Moses and decided not to get into a destabilising bidding war.
If we paid Brown $1.3-$1.4M a season after the shit he has served up in the last few years we would have been a laughing stock and we would have completely f**ked our salary cap.
He was having his worst season, both statistically and by eye test. The reason it took so long to drop him is probably because Ryles was hoping his form would turn around. Drown has had several elite seasons for us. Just not this year. You don’t need to drop a player mid season because he signed for huge money elsewhere, particularly when he is by far the best available option
This is why his 2023 suspension was so damaging to the club. We finished with 12 wins. One more would have had us in the finals.Didn't need him to make a massive difference. We were only 4 points from 8th.

We were 3-2 without him last season and the losses were close loss to Scum (perhaps he gets us over line) and a pummeling in Canberra (unlikely he makes difference). So maybe we finish 9th without himDidn't need him to make a massive difference. We were only 4 points from 8th.
Did you see the way he was playing? He wasn’t adding anything, particularly in attack.Didn't need him to make a massive difference. We were only 4 points from 8th.
Subjective... but at least you included the eye test this time!He was having his worst season, both statistically and by eye test.

Or we just had no faith that Joash Papalii could manage it. Which when you consider subsequent recruitment seems to be the coach's/club's position. The reason it took so long to drop him is probably because Ryles was hoping his form would turn around.
The future of Dean Hawkins and Joash Papalii as our halves? No future in thatDid you see the way he was playing? He wasn’t adding anything, particularly in attack.
Don’t see the issue in us moving on early. Plenty of other clubs have done it. The future starts now!

Anyone who has watched rugby league knew they weren’t our halves future long before they were given the keys in 2025.Probably lucky we found out this season and not gone into 26 excepting them to be the future.

He was chasing Galvin, then decided one year of Pezet is preferable. He knew as well as anybody that Papalii wasn’t going to be the future at 6I guess Ryles doesn't watch enough rugby league.

You understand that everyone else realises this, correct? You’re the only one crying over Brown being droppedHe was chasing Galvin, then decided one year of Pezet is preferable. He knew as well as anybody that Papalii wasn’t going to be the future at 6
Perhaps, but you have to remember he was in and around the Storm when they had the dilemma of replacing Cronk then Slater. Hughes, Munster, Scott Drinkwater and Papenhuyzen were all touted as Slater replacements. Who would have predicted Hughes who was in his mid 20s and had played virtually no first grade, would turn into an elite halfback while Brodie Croft, who was the highly touted next halfback, would spectacularly fail?He was chasing Galvin, then decided one year of Pezet is preferable. Plenty of dumb merkins on here thought Ryles would run with Papalii as 6 in the future. A guy just said Ryles mustn’t watch enough rugby league after I posted anyone who watches league knew Papalii wasn’t going to be our future 6. Another genius a couple weeks ago even suggested Pezet could be the backup half to PapaliiYou understand that everyone else realises this, correct? You’re the only one crying over Brown being dropped
You may have missed my other post where I showed in the 5 (yes only 5 games), we were 3-2 and in only 1 of those losses, Brown may have made a difference.Plenty of dumb merkins on here thought Ryles would run with Papalii as 6 in the future. I believe in playing your best available 17 every week. Even an out of form Dylan Brown is a better 6 than Joash/ Hawkins.

At least we’ve moved on from hating on BA, to hating on Ryles for not picking the best players in a year that was clear very early was going to be transitional.
Matterson (up to being loaned out) would’ve been in our best 17. Would you have picked him?
Data is the domain of Pou and only Pou dammit.Fairly sure Noise hasn't looked at any of the data and is just having a whinge for the sale of having a whinge
