We dropped our 5/8, potential golden boot winner, to develop a reserve grade fullback into a 5/8 to brush him for the Storm reserve grade half who will move on in 12 months so we can develop another 5/8. Only at Parra 😂
We developed Dylan Brown. Why do you think we can’t develop another one? We also developed Blaize Talagi.

Perfect way to manage a salary cap, pay everyone multi millions, seriously he got an Alan Bond once in a lifetime deal. No way we should have paid him more than he was earning at the club, when that was also possibly overs. Good luck and see how his career goes from here, 3 games for NZ is not a case to pay him more than Cleary or Moses and twice the contract length.

Keeps the opposition guessing

Totally agree. At his best he is world class, but he is way too inconsistent at present.

Did you think he was a potential golden boot winner before he was dropped?

No - Our underperforming 5/8 received an offer from the Knights that virtually everyone has called ‘desperate’ - one which puts him in the earning bracket of world class players - a bracket that he doesn’t currently belong in.

Rather than match that ridiculous offer and risk losing more important players we prioritised keeping Moses and decided not to get into a destabilising bidding war.

If we paid Brown $1.3-$1.4M a season after the shit he has served up in the last few years we would have been a laughing stock and we would have completely f**ked our salary cap.

You don’t need to drop a player mid season because he signed for huge money elsewhere, particularly when he is by far the best available option

He would have made a massive difference. Probably would have finished in the Top 4!

Brown played 16 games at 5/8 and 3 at centre in 2025.

So 19 out of 24 games

Joash played 4 games at 5/8 and the first game was in round 16.
