The only way to get rid of the cancer that is sheens

More to the point with Folkes all of the comments from the playing group were about how hard the off season was, how excuses and the usual mucking around was not accepted.

Yet all the players seem to praise Sheens a lot more. I take it that means Sheens > Folkes.

Maybe thats also a sign of the all too cosy relationship there. Its that very relationship that can be detrimental in a professional sport where results count.

Perhaps there is a school of thought the best results are achieved through less draconian measures.

You might be right but at the same time you can't argue that players comments towards Folkes should be held in such high regard.

The warriors board has guts and running the club without nepotism.
Mcclennen makes the grand final last year and fails this year and he gets the boot.

Now that's how it should be done Humph.

The problem with this is that who says it gets the best results.

The point is there was not a heap of direct praise for Folkes, they talked about how different it was. Hell there was even the comment that "no excuses tolerated".

If I were playing under Sheens and knew I could play like dross and face no consequences but a new contract I would be singing his praises as well

McLennan dropped Hurrell and a few others. Kearney has dropped a few including Sandow.

The issue with dropping players is you must have suitable players to replace them.

If the injury list is extensive as it has been at the Tigers this year, then you have a problem.

Dropping a player is a last resort as a coach has little else to inspire a player to a better performance.

Tigers injury list has not been extensive for the Tigers this year. It might have been a week or two ago, but prior to that, the injuries were in positions where we had good capable depth.

The ineptitude of the coach to put players in their preferred positions, which he could have done all year when injuries occurred, not to mention his mind numbingly absurd bench selection and use is what is the major issue here.

Tigers have used 29 players this year over 22 games - 6 players have played 21 games or more (Ayshford, Bell, Blair, Marshall, Ryan, Woods)

Below them are: Fulton (19), Lawrence, Heighington, Moltzen & Murdoch Masila (18), Farah & Galloway with 16.

13 players with a combined amount of missed games of 33 games between them.

If Moltzen & Marshall were halves, Ryan at 1 and Farah at 9 - we could have kept that spine intact for 16 games.

That spine hasn't played together once this year.

The Sheens cult are programmed to not understand this logic, everyone else can see it though.

851 - you speak of logic, pick the contradiction in this advice -

'Tigers injury list has not been extensive for the Tigers this year. It might have been a week or two ago'

Madunit - discussed and re-discussed that Ryan does not have the pace or the ball skills to be a long term option at fullback. He won't worry the defences of the top sides especially in the finals if we make it. They know that and the Tigers' know it.

Please, 851 stop peddling the manure and raise an arguement worth bringing forward.

Ryan may not be the fulltime option at 1 but he has more ability than Moltzen in that position. He is safer under the high ball and is safer in defence. Also he is more willing to make a run when receiving a kick. Moltzen hasnt worried defence from fullback either so thats a dud arguement. Moltzen does however worry defence when he is playing up in the line.

We also had Brown at that stage who was better than both at fullback.
Talking of fullbacks , Sheens picked Moltzen and The junior burger ahead of Gallant... Moltzen ahead of Brown , also buying McKinnon ..so lack of a decent fullback isnt new its been around for years just like lacking a halfback

Injuries, bad calls have played their part this season, just like the other clubs, but like most other years the no1 reason we are in our usual hole is Sheens. Team selections, bench rotation are some of his common stuff ups. Its like Holden and Ford, their people who love him and people who hate him, although the hate him camp is getting bigger by the day

And despite all of this, the WTs are still in with a chance of making the 8.

As a supporter of Sheens I will also add his capacity with the aid of Wests and Balmain clubs of identifying, retaining and developing local talent is outstanding. Similarly, his role in keeping players like BMM despite interest from other clubs is also outstanding.

Sheens annoys me at times with his team selections however the simple fact is that he does have a lot of positive points and I'd argue the overall performance of the club has been really good.

I also think it is easy to think that you know better than Sheens but lets be honest that's probably complete and utter horse-shit.

Lacking rational thought?

Before Folkes we were a shambles who had not made a finals series since 2005, teams knew we had a weak underbelly and our defence would crumble if pressured long enough.

Royce leave, Folkes comes in and we make two finals on the back of winning ugly when we had to and having a defence to be proud of on alot more occasions .

Folkes leaves, Sheens brings in a yes man in Georgalis, lets Skandalis a guy with no experience or serious qualifications take over as our fitness, strength and conditioning coach and we are back to the same unchallenged, mentally fragile rubbish

It is the Western Suburbs mongs that are the problem. We have to appease the
Campbelltown elements by employing Cherry Mescia and the worlds greatest player
John Skandalis.

Sheens can handle himself with the right backup (a defensive coach like Folkes), but
the maggie mongs drag us down.

You should be careful what you wish for, that could have been Terry Lamb and not
Royce.
