"I know times have changed and there are now three clubs in Queensland to choose from, but Queensland’s best players should be Brisbane’s best."

Why should the best players in the state play for the Broncos?

How bloody arrogant. No wonder so many people hate this vile club. Hopefully the Bulldogs do enough to get past the Broncos on the ladder so Brissie can have as many wooden spoons as each of their board of directors have heads.

Kevin Walters said at the press conference when the Broncos were down 22-0 after 15 minutes he wasn't concerned. Gee, either he was telling porkies, or he didn't have high expectations on the Titans.

I must say at that point in the game. I thought the only thing that could bring the Titans undone was their defense. They scored 30 points against Souths and still lossed by 10. And sure enough, that's exactly what happened. Titans no doubt have a very talented team but there not even close to playing finals football if they don't tighten that up. I think there are even teams outside the top 8 who wouldn't allowed the Broncos to get back into the contest so quickly and easily considering the scores were level at halftime.

Fifita has a helluva highlight reel but Tino is the real star of that Titans team.

This is very true, Fifita will crash over many times this year and leave defenders on the ground but he's nowhere to be seen when they need a big carry to get into good field position

Is that someone you'd pay 1.2m for? The Titans obviously thought so

Dave Donaghy must have known yesterday when he made those comments that this was about to happen!

No wonder Dave flipped his top.....

on his second day in his new job, his new team's best player signs with the old club that he just left. LOL

BREAKING: Biggest Broncos blow yet with Origin star jumping ship to Storm

Brisbane has been dealt its biggest player retention blow this year by losing young gun winger Xavier Coates to Melbourne.
A number of media outlets, including News Corp papers, are reporting the 20-year-old has signed on with the Storm from next season.

News Corp says it’s a two-year deal.

Coates is one of Brisbane’s best young players, and made his State of Origin debut last year for Queensland.

It comes just two days after new Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy lashed out at “vultures” stealing the best young players from Red Hill.

Last year they lost David Fifita to the Titans, while only last week Tom Dearden signed with the Cowboys.

Coates toured the Melbourne facilities last week and it seems he has made up his mind to move south next season.

It’s an incredible pick-up for the Storm, who lose Origin winger Josh Addo-Carr to Canterbury at the end of this campaign.

The Victorian has also lost premiership winger Suliasi Vunivalu this year so Coates will restock that star power on the flanks.

New team's best player? I don't think so
