To the outsider it appears that way, but he actually stood down and is now deputy chairman of St George Leagues Club.

The Constitution of our club pretty much makes it near impossible to 'oust' a board member.

Check this out for nepotism - Doust was in the job for 18 years, and do you know who the CEO is who replaced him? It's the guy who was CEO 18 years before Doust.

You got some consistency in last 3 seasons of Gus's 8 year reign! Shame he sacked the only coach that has got you there and repalced him with a coach that only got you there once in 4 years!

The first 3 years were a complete rebuild at all levels of thr club. The last 5 years:

2014: week 3 of finals
2015: missed finals
2016: week 2 of finals
2017: week 2 of finals
2018: week 2 of finals

That's our least successful side.Reserve grade, U16s, U18s and U20s all winning comps. Producing enough quality players to be able to make the finals with huge injury tolls and player turnover.

Gould has f**ked a lot of shit up for us. But the good he has done for us has been enough that we can be regular finals contenders with incompetent coaches, huge injury tolls, ridiculous player turnover and while fielding the youngest and least experienced side in the competition.

He cant be trusted. He has made many poor signing decisions and seemingly paid overs to a lot of guys too. Yet no matter how poorly he and/or the board handle things. Shit seems to work out better then most teams.

Gus should be concentrating on the Riff Panffers instead of his 9 commitments. How he has a contract with 9 is beyond me, no one I know finds him tolerable.
