wrong on all counts.

We're going to beat man u in a fortnight. They've lost vidic and ferdinand, the scoreline will be something like 5-4.

After our first 3 games including games against liverpool and manchester we're going to be on 7 points. We will win the league.

Top 6 to be:
Arsenal
man u
chelsea
liverpool
manchester city
tottenham

we got this.

^ you realise we lost the 2nd best CM in the world overnight right? and also that Smalling and Phil Jones are the 2 best Young English Cbs ,

Man utd 3 - 1
And Liverpool 2- 0.....

Unless we sign Juan Manuel Mata and Gary Cahill and sell Nasri in exchange for Tevez.... none of which will happen
We do not need Mata. We have plenty of good players who can play wing. Walcott, Gervinho, Arshavin, Chamberlain etc etc. If we spent 20+ million on another winger I'd be mad as hell.

Although another CB would be nice. It isn't as important as many Arsenal fans think. People keep forgetting we get Vermaelen back after he was injured for the entire season. Koscielny and him looked safe as houses against Newcastle. Would I like Gary Cahill? Sure, but it's not urgent. IMO Koscielny and Vermaelen are the best CB pair in the league after Vidic and Ferdinand.

We need to make one buy, and that's a CM. Not another Fabregas. Wilshere became an elite player last season, he's the next English superstar. Ramsey is another very very good mid. We need a good mid to be behind them, and I've heard we're about to sign Jadson. If we do, I have no problem with making no more signings.

So many Arsenal fans are losing their minds at Wenger but they're missing the forest for the trees. Have we struggled? Yes, but other than Manchester United, we're the most ready for Financial Fair Play. When bottomless pockets won't be the be all and end all of success in European soccer. When having all time greats as managers, like United and Arsenal have, will prove to be more important than 100 million dollars in cash.

If you're an Arsenal fan who is stressing, I recommend you read this Gary Neville article:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...al-fans-shouldnt-criticise-Arsene-Wenger.html

It says it all. Arsenal fans need to relax, take a chill pill and appreciate the fact we have 1 of the 2 best managers of the last 20 years.

Arsenal to win at least 1, and possibly more, trophies this season.

I'm always serious when it comes to South Sydney and Arsenal.

SAF & Mourinho > Wenger
Mourinho isn't fit to polish Wenger's shoes. If Mourinho coached Arsenal for the last 15 years we'd never have won a league.

Sure he won league titles at Chelsea but Ferguson and Wenger would win every single year with Abramovich's billions. And yes he won titles at Inter but the Serie A is a joke. Italy and Germany don't hold a candle to the toughness of England and Spain.

He failed at Real Madrid last season.

And he's never won a Champions league despite coaching 3 of the biggest clubs in the world for the last 7 consecutive seasons (not counting Porto in 04, they had an extraordinarily easy draw beating Lyon in the quarters, Coruna in the semis and Monaco in the Final...11 trained monkeys could have done that)

SAF and Wenger are miles ahead of the next best.

As a prediction i think Paul Lambert will leave Norwich and move to a bigger club, Norwich i think will then end up in a similar situation to Burnley when Coyle left. I think Lambert will end up at either Villa,Sunderland or Newcastle.

Managers in the last 20 years better than Arsene Wenger list, in no particular order

Sir Alex Ferguson
Jose Mourinho
Johan Cruyff
Guus Hiddink
Carlo Ancelotti
Arrigo Sacchi
Luis Aragones
Vicente del Bosque

Quite welcome to add to that list.

Chamberlain? Really? The guys last game was against some League One nuffies. He is a long way away from being anywhere near ready for the first team. He might play off the bench in some Carling Cup games, but that will be the extend of his involvement...I hope so anyway. Miyachi is at a higher level than Chamberlain.

Arshavin should not be relied on as a winger. He barely played as a winger before moving to Arsenal and clearly it isn't his best, or most natural position.

Arsenal need another wide man. Theo is injury prone, Gervinho is playing his first season of EPL and our forward stocks aren't good enough to move RvP wide. Otherwise we'll see the dynamic wing play of Diaby or Rosicky.

Terry/Alex or Ivanovic, Toure/Kompany are better. Statistically as well. Even Huth/Shawcross are up there. The problem with Arsenal's defence isn't Verm and Koscielny. It's what happens when one of them becomes injured or suspended. Which as we saw last season, is a far too regular occurance. Vermaelen is one of the best CB's in England, and for a player who has only played top flight football for two years, Koscielny is doing brilliantly. But Arsenal's defensive problems are mirrored by the teams problems - depth.

I expect either Cahill, Dann or Metzelder to sign before the end of the month.

Arsenal ran Fabregas into the ground. Players on young, undeveloped bodies cannot be relied upon to play 40+, even 30+ games a season. Fabregas' chronic hamstring problems aren't necessarily 'bad luck' or genetics. The poor lad hasn't played a full season in recent memory. And it's because for the past four-five seasons the entire club has relied on him playing in every fixture possible. Simply because we haven't had the class to come in and occasionally replace him. Do we really want Ramsey and Wilshere burning out at 24/25?
So many Arsenal fans are losing their minds at Wenger but they're missing the forest for the trees. Have we struggled? Yes, but other than Manchester United, we're the most ready for Financial Fair Play. When bottomless pockets won't be the be all and end all of success in European soccer. This is very true. I'm an ardent supporter of Arsenal's 'sustainable' philosophy. But unfortunately you don't win silverware for being Financial Fair Play ready in 2011. Silverware is what's wanted by the players, board and fans. Not a rewarding pat on the back from Platini.

Arsenal to win at least 1, and possibly more, trophies this season.

Either cup is our only realistic hope IMO.

I've said this for a long time, Arsenal's problem is the centre of the park, they lack bite and struggle under pressure.

They need someone with balls to come in and kick the shit out of everyone. Doesn't necessarily have to be a playmaker, just a very good DM with a big engine.

Someone like Fernando from Porto would be perfect. And should be obtainable for 15-20M, so not unreasonable.

IFFHS is a joke so I would hardly be using them as a source.

They rate Sven at 13.
Bruce Arena on par with Pep Guardiola
Ricki Herbert makes the list.

They also have a club world ranking

They rate Cerro Porteno of Paraguay and Liga de Quito of Ecuador ahead of Chelsea, Liverpool, AC Milan and your Arsenal.

In fact that bring into question how can Wenger be the best manager in the world when he manages side ranked 36th in the world?

Did that genius just say that Mourinho hasn't won the Champions League?

edit.

Did he say Deportivo were nobodies? Back in the early 2000's they were the second best Spanish team, by far. They eliminated Juventus in the round of 16 and Milan in the quarter finals, both teams contesting the 2003 CL final.

Monaco thrashed Madrid and Chel$ki en route to the final. Porto eliminated Man U in the round of 16 but their matches from there got tougher with Lyon and second best Spanish team Deportivo.

I realise you know very little about anything but to laugh Porto, Monaco and especially Deportivo off for that year is geniusation at its finest.

Jogi Löw (currently the best international manager)
Jürgen Klopp
Pep Guardiola
Diego Maradona
Frank Farina

How's everyone's predictions approximately halfway through the seasons?

Jose Mourinho is still in with a chance of securing a break through CL title smh

BvB to go back to back, eliminated group stage.

Gomez leading goal scorer

S04minute champions battle relegation

Hertha qualify for Europe

Leverkusen finish 5th or lower

The rent payers of München to spend another season in 2.Liga

BvB equal first, looking good for back to back. Eliminated in the CL group stage as expected.

S04 unfortunately not battling relegation

HBSC closer to relegation than Europe. 9 points from the final EL spot, 3 points above promotion/relegation play off.

Pill Poppers sit in 6th, 1 point behind Bremen.

The Gymnast thieves are 7 points off the promotion/relegation play off, going nowhere.

Barca to win every trophy.

St Pauli, Sampdoria, Cardiff to promote.

Mainz to start the season with 8 straight losses and then finish mid table.

Juventus to finish mid table.

League Winners:

CL: Barcelona
Italy: Milan
Spain: Barcelona
Germany: Bayern Munich
France: Lyon

St Pauli are 4th on goal difference and 3 points behind 1st in the 2.BL
Sampdoria 5 points off promotion playoff
Cardiff are third and 1 point off second in the championship.

I'm actually going to go for a shock tip and say Arsenal will either finish second or first. If them and Chelsea were able to keep up their early-season form last year, they would have made up the top two quite comfortably.
