But you are picturing what the radio announcers calls. So if the radio announcers calls 'that's a bad pass there from cody walker' then you are picturing a bad pass, even if it was actually a good play but the announcer got caught up in the heat of the game and got ot wrong.
For example i heard you say mcinnes kick in game 1 was terrible, what was he thinking, when in actual fact it was a great play that almost led to a try if it wasn't down to a bad bounce of the ball.

It was early in the tackle count.

Inexperience was that play from Cam.

Overall Cam has been consistent though. He went well against Parra.

So with our tournament over these are my player ratings. It's 9s so i don't think we can put much into the performances, the trials will give us a better picture. I've divided the players into 3 groups. Good- obviously they were good average- done some good things mixed in with some not so good things. Maybe had one good game mixed with a dodgy game. Meh- not going to crucify guys for not performing at the 9s, but these guys performances can be summed up as meh

Good
1. McInnes- great defence, gets overlooked but he is dominated in tackles and wins the arm wrestle, was dangerous in attack.
2. Cook- only just behind mcinnes, he has a better running game, but his defence is not as strong as cam. Penalties in the last game was costly. But overall he and cam were easily our best players
3. Clark- easily our best forward, quite in our last game but was cleaning up in defence and doing the hard work in attack

Average
4. Olive- didn't get much time, but took full advantage of his limited time
5. Sutton- not good in the 2nd game, but was a calming influence in the other games
6. Hunt- made mistakes, but still showed some nice work when given an opportunity
7. Turner- got through his work with minimum fuss
8. Auva'a- mistakes mixed in with dangerous attack
9. Carter- went ok in limited chance
10. Goodwin- good mixed in with the bad, the usual goodwin performance. A one on one miss on the line in the 2nd game was costly
11. Walker- was quite, but wasn't the disaster some are making out. Had patched of good work, which can be expected to in an inconsistent game like the 9s
12. Musgrove- went ok with limited opportunities

The meh
13. Tom Burgess- a big worry the way he was dominated in tackles and took an eternity to play the ball, overlap killer was a shocker.
14. Oldfield- didn't look like he wanted to be there.

The others
I'm not sure if we used all our players. If any other players played they were completely anonymous.

I forgot AJ. Unfortunately he got injured very early, so couldn't judge him overall

yeah cook looking good

Same for McInnes and Goodwin.

King was impressed with both.

King said Cam has worked extremely hard over the off season and that he could be good in the back row to give blokes a rest too.

King also said Goodwin is super consistent.

Overall Cam has been consistent though. He went well against Parra.

But if you were watching the game you would of seen it was a good play let down by a bad bounce of the ball

The highlight was the hooker battle, cook and mcinnes are pushing each other to get in the team

Cody has been quiet.

He didn't take control of the side like I expected.

I think Cam has the nod for the 9 so far. Cook in the 14 jersey.

See my side just above.

Hunt isn't up to it defensively.

Oldfield will get in ahead of Hunt if AJ is out.

What makes you think hunt is upto it defensively?
If you watched the 9s you'd of seen oldfield is the one player that really hury his chances of being picked in game 1

I understand what you're saying. I read the previous post.

It's an all or nothing play though.

Anyway I'm happy with Cam overall.

He was strong today.

I think Madge will go with the experience of Oldfield to start.

If Oldfield doesn't perform then in about Round 4 expect Hunt in. I could be wrong though.

Anyway if AJ is fine we won't need to worry about Oldfield or Hunt.

Well that's if Gray is fit. Fingers crossed for Aaron.

If Gray is injured I'd put Hunt in.

So what makes Hunt bad defensively?

So what makes Hunt bad defensively?

His positioning is poor. Misses tackles.

I'll be watching him closely next week. Madge has work to do with Hunt.

Hunt didn't make it at his last 2 clubs due to his defence. He knows it too.

Some experience at Norths for a month or 2 and tard work at training and I think Hunt can make the jump up.

See above alien, both.

Goodwin will be there Round 1.

Him and Auva'a will continue building their combo on the left.

Madge will be happy with Goodwin. He's been consistent and solid for the 9s.

Correct Matrix. Great post. Someone sees sense. Hallelujjaaaahhh. Funny how Shadow has vanished all of a sudden:lol:

Cody didn't live up to the hype
Hunt didn't live up to the hype
Oldfield didn't live up to the hype (if AJ is out however I see Oldfield getting first crack on the wing)

What do you think of Gosiewski and Musgrove?????

hunt was ok.

oldfield was moved around a lot. i think he will be better when he stays on the wing in the proper form of the game, although i agree that he didn't go as well as i thought he might go in the nines

You know the answer to that.

In the highlights and comments on radio.

They said Hunt is inexperienced and came in too much.

Just listen to Matrix, he is being realistic.
