It's silly to say St George were not premiers in 2010.

St George/Illawarra were the premiers, not a stand alone St George. The mighty Saints did not win a premiership after 1979.

Even tho the Saints were not carrying home the silverware often back in the pre merger years we were not also rans either. We played for the trophy and came out second best in 1971, 1975, 1985, 1992, 1993, 1996.
We also took out the Minor Premiership in 1979, 1985 and the Club Championship in 1971, 1984, 1985.

I'll say it again: 2010 was St George's 16th premiership, for Illawarra it was the first. That's how both clubs celebrated it.

No I did as having Illawarra attached to our name means to me we are no longer a stand alone club. If as you say were are still seen by the powers to be as St George then I accept that and am pleased.

A couple of grand finals were not played in the very early years of the competition. Due to minor premiers declared winner's of the competition

On May 11, 1935, 21 years before the Dragons world record run, they first made history when they annihilated newcomers Canterbury 91–6 at Earl Park, statistically the biggest win in premiership history. Canterbury led 4–0 after 20 minutes and at half-time the score was 23–6. However, the Saints went beserk in the second scoring 14 tries and 68 points, the most scored in one half of any match.

St George had the biggest supporter base at one point, many have passed on, the lack of success has contributed a fall from grace, I started following them in 1977, there was so much hype, there was so much admiration from all, including media back then, everyone loved supporting the Red V they were winners, my older neighbours would tell me how great it was watching all legends of the 50's and 60's, you had Johny Raper, Reg Gasnier, Ian Walsh, Norm Proven and co just doing it.
Today it seems the complete opposite, no one seems to care, the Red V is just there making up the numbers these days, like an old rusty GTS Monaro with a clapped out engine.
I would be interested to get some feedback from fellow St George supporters, if let's say we don't win another premiership in our lifetime, is it really worth the time we put into following the game at all?

Exactly redv13. Never, ever give up. Just got to believe that we will become a success story in the not too distant future. Keep following this club and support them.

Unfortunately due to the NRL St George can no longer add to their tally and any future accomplishments now go under St George Illawarra.

The NRL really don't want a bar of Saints history to be included with St George Illawarra and eventually wipe any existence of this great club. As a kid I always hoped St George would overtake Souths for most premierships but that won't happen and St George's 'premiership win tally will eventually be overtaken by the Sydney Roosters or Eastern Suburbs because that team represents the same are but the Saints don't.

Whilst Melbourne can show off their 5 premierships won under Bellamay of which 2 were taken off them for cheating but are still celebrated and treated like an achievement under supercoach.

At the end of the Day St George have won the Most consecutive Premierships in Row, no one can take that away from Rugby League history, only moronic people will say everything under the sun to diminish this achievement, salary cap, modern game, bluh bluh, however there are a number of aspects of the game, they weren't privileged to have, 1.the concussion protection rule and 2 the overpaid salaries.
St George is a merge entity that still carries the history and DNA, as a Red V supporter I have experienced 3 Premierships 1977,1979 and 2010, that is still a lot more than let's say Scumulla or a Illawarra supporters.
