The Road to the Finals

This is how I see the last 5 games for us:

Sharks and Titans: these are games we should win if we have any right to make the finals. The Sharks are gone, and the Titans as good as gone. We need to be able to professionally put both these sides away without risking any star players under injury clouds.
Knights: if we're going to drop one game it should be this one. It's an away game and the knights are pkaying well at times but out of contention, so if they win there's no chance of them overtaking us. However we should still ideally win it. Win these 3 and we're on 30 and safely in the finals you'd think.
Roosters: this is the one we should really be gunning for. The chooks are a genuine contender so if we knock them over we'll know we can make some finals impact, but more importantly we'll likely overtake them on the ladder by beating them as well. In a sense this is a four point game.
Panthers: could be a similar situation to the Roosters, though the Pantehrs are an extra win ahead of us at the moment. However if we've won 3/4 by the time we play them we could have made up that gap and their injury toll could leave them ripe for the picking.
If we win 5/5 we'll be top 4.
If we can win 4/5 including both the chooks and the Panthers we'll be pushing top 4 as well.
4/5 dropping one of those two games will get us top 6.
3/5 will be safe for 7th or 8th, maybe even 6th.
2/5 we could scrape in on 28, but we'd have to be lucky.

3/5 more realistic and that is with Koni and Shaun back

Be pretty lame if we can't beat Cronulla, Newcastle and Gold Coast tbh

Imagine how gutted we will be if we blow it like the end of last year. I hate being a warriors supporter.

It would be worse, the draw means we should be able to fall into the semis...

More realistic than what? I listed all the options that would get us to the finals. 3/5 is realistic, 4/5 if we're serious about being contenders, and 5/5 is certainly possible.

Winning 5 (making it six in a row) isn't particularly achievable when you consider teams winning six in a row is very scarce in the NRL, particularly at the back end of the year with injuries, fatigue, other teams' motivations at various levels etc.

3/5 I expect, 4/5 I would be very happy with.

yea but the table is the way it is because no one has got through their banana skin games un touched.

The entire competition has slipped.

Take the top four sides. With the exception of Manly the rest have been thumped by Nevile nobodies.

The Roosters will consider us a very gettable scalp.

Its different when the shoes on the other foot and your mob are the underdog aye.

It would be much worse than last year if we missed out from here. Last year was more hoping we could put some winnable games away and sneak in. We have to really stuff things up to miss from here. Honestly, the team should be gunning for at least 6th place to book a home semi, if not higher.

I really think the club has turned a corner this year, can't see us missing the semis from here. From this point its really about finishing as high as we can and trying to push deep into the finals.

And we should consider them a very gettable scalp too, we have home advantage.

Anyway one thing is certain, the Broncos just did us a favour, now if win this weekend and we go ahead of the dogs on +/- and move up to 7th, maybe higher though I don;t really see either the Cowboys or Storm slipping up this week.

Well Cows lose to Tigers, Storm lose to Knights and Roosters lose to Titans and we win by 38 (Less depending on Roosters losing margin) and we are in 4th! After Friday nights results

:D:crazy:

Broncos did us a favour if you are an optimist. If you are more of a pessimist you would say they are right behind us now, and almost caught up to us on points differential as well. Part of me would have rather the safer, knock the Broncos down result...ah well.

No benefit in the Sea Eagles losing though, that one sucks. Just want them to win from here on out, they play a few teams around us in the last few weeks.

Broncos have a tough run home though. Bunnies, Dragons, Storm (and the Knights)
Bulldogs have the Eels next week.
So it only gets tighter and tighter each week
