Well well, we've been thrown a lifeline.

It might well end up a trip to Penrith to decide our fate after all!

We still need to dish out a fifty-point hiding over the Titans.

Not at all. A 1 point win is sufficient if the Roosters beat the Storm tonight. Then the Storm and Broncos play each other next weekend knock one of them down...beat the Titans and we will be poised to jump pst whoever loses that game. Even if the Storm win tonight, they should win again next week for us anyway, which would mean points differential don't matter and all we need to do is win. I'd say it's pretty unlikely for us to miss if we win the last 2 games now.

The way I see it, we need to win both games and we need the Storm to beat the Broncos next week.

We just need to keep winning and hopefully last weekend was a catalyst to do that.
If Warriors thrash the Titans, the Eels lose in Canberra and Storm thrash Broncos then we are in without the Panthers game.
F/A difference between the Warriors (+54) and Broncos (+103) is 49 points

That should be the game Rooster 20-12 5mins to go.
Now it's up to the Warriors to show up tomorrow and handle the pressure going into the very last game of round 26!

The beer's tasting pretty good tonight, and those in NSW will appreciate this as I'm on the Hammer 'n' Tongs!

The Eels loss was enormous, Roosters win (despite Maloney) a bonus.

Now, we're surely going to win tomorrow?

Oh dear its a we should win game!

I think the big test if we win tomorrow is the pressure of winning away to Penrith on Sunday at a 8:30pm nz kick off!

We beat the Titans by 11 tomorrow and all we need is a win in the last round to guarantee finals action. F/A can be kicked out of the equation (although will restrict how far up the ladder we can climb)

Our fates are totally in our hands now guys. Great position to be in, no one to blame but ourselves. I really really hope we can win tomorrow so I can head out to the massive game next week :)

I need to work this out. I'm going to assume the Cowboys beat the Sharks on Monday.

Let's say we beat the Titans 1 - 0 today. The ladder will look like this...

Cowboys - 30 pts, +175, 5th (plus whatever F/A boost they get from the Sharks)
Storm - 30 pts, +66, 6th
Bulldogs - 30 pts, +8, 7th
Broncos - 28 pts, +103, 8th
Warriors - 28 pts, +54, 9th
Eels - 28 pts, -90, 10th

The key games in Round 26 are...

Broncos vs Storm
Raiders vs Eels
Titans vs Bulldogs
Panthers vs Warriors

So if the Storm win, we'd just need to beat the Panthers to jump over the Broncos.

If the Broncos win, we'd need either the Titans to beat the Bulldogs and / or a favourable F/A over the Storm - plus a win over the Panthers of course. This means two wins could still leave us 9th or best results would have us finishing 7th.

An 8th place finish would see us away to the 5th placed team - which could end up being the Panthers, presuming they lose to Manly today.

I know I'm a bit delusional, but I'm still keeping the faith

Don't overthink it too much, 2 wins and we are in. The points differential between us and the Storm is 12 - we would have to win 2 games and they lose their game with the total points differential being less than 12 for that to matter - really unlikely I think. We can solve it today just by having a 10 point win over the Titans. Plus I really don't see the Storm losing anyway - but good to know we should be OK even if they do.

Because Broncos are playing Storm next week, the way I see it our destiny is in our own hands. If we win both our games we're a 99% chance of making the 8 and one of those two will drop out (unless they get some favourable results with other teams losing).

If we somehow manage to pull something out of our arse against Penrith geez I don't wanna play Cowboys in Townsville week one.

Really shouldn't be thinking this far ahead, but the Cowboys vs Manly game may decide who we play if we get through - either the Storm if the Cowboys win (as they would slip into 4th) or the Panthers if the Sea Eagles win. Wouldn't mind either to be honest.

You should mind because the Storm are a much stronger team than the Panthers. With the Panthers you only need to bottle up Soward and Segeyaro, and it is game over.

Maybe, but we have a good record against the Storm. There's no fear in playing them... Panthers, much harder to stop Segeyaro than just saying it.

We have a good record against the Storm in finals games. To be fair though, doesn't really matter who we play. If we can't beat the Panthers or Storm we wont beat the Rabbits, Sea Eagles or Roosters.

My personal preference would be playing the Bulldogs though :)

We have to have empathy. There was a mad Eels fan in the bar yesterday watching his dreams shattered against the Knights.

The same guy rocked up again today, albeit a bit warily, to hope for a Titans upset.

He had an awful weekend.

As Warriors fans, we've been in his shoes.
