U couldn’t do ur child a worse disservice if he didn’t think Kyle will flourish

I will be astounded if this is a dumb move

I mean would u recruit ur child if u thought they were a good chance of failing?

Not a chance

Nepotism rarely takes "experienced and fitting applicant for the position" into account. No, it's purely jobs for the boys in 99% of cases as it obviously is in this case - a package deal from the start for sure.
I've worked at companies where management have bought in rellies and given them cushy jobs and company vehicles and then defended their off-spring when the little bastards failed miserably, it's a rort.

There is a lot of clowns on this forum that Sook and whinge about anything Flannagan does even before he coaches a game. They whinge if we don't sign players and then Sook again when we do. I will be concerned if we don't sign a couple of descent backs and forwards but let's wait as he had only just got the coaches role. Remember he has made good players into top players before.

You know people don't have to applaud every decision he makes yeah? Thinking this is a bad decision doesn't make someone a clown, that's reserved for people who earlier this year were claiming that releasing Sullivan would be proof that we have the worst administration in world sport, and now applauding his release.

The clowns are the ones who say you can't criticise any decision he makes until he coaches a game.

That is the nature of this fine forum. A diverse collection of views that in effect provide opinions of members/fans of the Dragons. Yes many I don't agree with but many I do and to tell you the truth, I enjoy hearing from both sides of the fence.

You mean out of the 5 games we won this year ? How many did Hunt win us ? Kind of a moot point really.
FYI - Hunt's win percentage over his 6 years with us is 41.5%.
Sullivan and Amone had a proven and very successful combination going in the lower grades and both showed plenty of potential. We could have nurtured that a bit more and worked them into first grade together, that's what pathways is all about and it's how you build/restructure a team, not by going out and buying duds (players and coaches) and letting one player tell you what to do and what position he will play. Sullivan was instead given a handful of games over 3 seasons and not nearly enough opportunity. Sullivan played just 4 games in reserves this year but racked up 9 try assists and 7 LB assists. I can't wait to see Sullivan play with a bit of coaching from the great Benji Marshall, shall be interesting to say the least.
Even when the Dragons pathways system was working well, we lost good players to other clubs and recruited some dumb players. Our problem this time round was we had dumb coaches, dumb people running pathways, and players believing they were entitled to be in the NRL team even though they did not have the basic skills to play well at the top level.

Sullivan, Amone, and Sloan are good prospects but not ready for the NRL. not because of their young age or inexperience but because they lack the basic skillset required at NRL level.

What we need right now is a forward pack capable of matching it with the best. That with a solid fast backline who are willing to do the tough work in defense, would keep the Dragon's supporters happy.

Nepotism absolute NEPOTISM
A
The Craig Young / Dean Young is a clear case of nepotism. It continues without hesitation as if it were entitled to be in the best interest of our club. It is only in the best interest of the Youngs'.

I predicted and now support the recruitment of Kyle Flannagan. I also wanted Hunt to move on for a long time. Our salary cap balance needs to be restructured and that means moving on the over-paid players and replacing them with highly talented ower paid players. For example, Hunt, Bird, Lomax, Burns, and De Belin are all overpaid.

Shifting Lomax (800K) to the fullback position makes more sense, only if the move is a success.

Jack Bird should never have been extended.

De Belinn never have been given a pay

Burns although on relatively a much smaller salary, is only holding up the progress of some of our young juniors.

With the loss of some dead wood forwards and without Burns, Bird and De Belin, the Dragons could easily address their main problem; the lack of top-grade props.
