@Dragon David ...give the Hunt stuff a rest for now ( flanno knows what he is doing...;-) ... There is a lot happening behind the scenes...

Hunt is the least of our problems... the squad will look very different in 25.... and next year as well...

Watch this space.
Thanks GS- Hope springs eternal and all that and you obviously have a CI (as they say in Chicago PD) in the club for the advice you have given. Agree totally about Flanno-he seems to have incredible energy and ever the opportunist (still expecting a few eagle feathers to be floating down to the Gong.) My concern is with the average front office worthies who might be a handbrake on our all-action coach.

It will be extremely interesting to see who we eventually get in the next few weeks to 6 months and who would be gone in that period. In Flanagan we trust and I hope we land some biggies otherwise heaven forbid. Hame Sele and Kyle Flanagan fill some spots but of course are not big signings that we are craving. Big names have been mentioned in the usual media circles as possibilities and it would be great if we can land a few.

I'm thinking that there will be several young junior players coming into the grades and will be developed for 2025. You guys who see them run around in the local area would have a good idea as to who they are.

We should have some improvement for next year and patience is required once more. Ho Hum!

Waiting and waiting has been like watching my grass grow and even that green stuff is moving faster than the recruitment.

Agree ST, but I'm willing to bet that his average becomes way better at the Panthers.
Still hoping we pick up Billy Smith from the Roosters.
Big and strong, can defend well and also a good runner of the football.
Best of all would be to have the name Billy Smith once again donning the Big Red V.
Even more ironic would be his name featuring again in what is the Chinese New Year of the Dragon in 2024.
Let's hope with Flanagan at the helm it will truly be a much better year for the St George Illawarra Dragons.

If you were Alamoti and you had the Panthers and Dragons chasing you , where would you go ??
Are other players having these same thoughts as it has been happening to us for some time now? Are players like this guy Alamoti not being chased by our people because there are better fish in the gulf stream of league nations to sign up? Or do we just not have scouts or talent spotters good enough to judge if they are worth signing?

We have signed two already and I am hoping that they set the neon lights blazing under our new coaching guys but we really need a couple of top shelf players to compliment our team and as time goes by, which it is very quickly, what guys will be left that we need and what of those really want to wear the RedV jersey and really want to play hard and tough for us?

If our club was truly run properly we could be a success. If we could not do this in the past 11 years, what is the difference now to then?

I know how you are feeling Dave, it seems like a very long time since the Dragons signed anyone of note, I guess we just have to put our faith in @getsmarty and Flanno and hope like hell there are moves afoot.

Doing well , one thing
comeback next year minimal chance I would imagine after what he has gone through
i don’t know but sounds like has had surgeries which may not be compatible with a high impact sport and also would have lost a shit load of muscle bulk and size , he will struggle I suspect , but I don’t know the full story TBH

he might be a nice guy etc etc but the club can’t really keep him on the books at the clubs detriment hoping for the best
it’s also why we should have rid ourself of JDB if that was feasible as well
If it is anything like my sister had, that is, intestinal tumour that required her complete stomach organs removed which left her with 15% pancreas, 12'' of intestines only & various other digestive issues, he can return under medication to assist in slowing his digestive organs to allow him to maintain & possibly increase body mass.
Foot note:
She was 27 & is now 59. life is ahead of him even if it does not include NRL
