If any side can make the difference in current salary work and still fit them in the cap its the Roosters

Yeah. It's what they call "post employment benefits" that's the difference. In other words, what gets slipped to them when they hang up the boots and out of NRL scrutiny. It works cause that's when the regular income they've come to know suddenly stops.

But we have Flano surely he is ours.
Flanno himself has admitted that things have been hard with recruitment and it is challenging due to the Dolphins coming in and other circumstances which he did not expand on. The Bulldogs might also have a go at getting AFB if the "recent buys" don't go well. They don't give a shit about players. They hire and fire at will if they don't do the job.

Whatever happens though, Flanno really has to work hard with Shane Millard to get some quality especially for 2025 - even that is way too far away for my liking and my health.

According to Brent Read, Edwin Ipape is strongly linked to the Dragons. Not able to officially make it confirmed like others until 10 days has passed. Next Friday could be the day for this and maybe some other - my guess only gents and Nana Dragon.
Link?

Not sure why there would be any delay in any announcement regarding Ipape as he is playing for a UK Super League team.
Surely the 1 November date that applies to the NRL does not have any relevance to SL players??
Brent Read has been pushing this story plus the link to Connor Tracey for a while now.

That's true Desperate Dragon. Now that all International games have been completed this weekend, possibly there will be several announcements coming from several clubs and hopefully the Dragons will be one of those clubs.

Well according this link https://www.zerotackle.com/reported-dragons-target-addresses-future-159772/, Edwin is not coming to Dragons unless there has been some deals done behind the scenes between Dragon's and his super league club.
That article was written in July 2023 steerlerbab. I sort of thought that he was staying with the Leigh Leopards back then but things could have changed in the next 4 months. I'm not saying he is definitely coming to us and this is the Rumours thread and like everything that is a rumour, I would take it with a grain of salt until we see it in black and white in the Dragons website.

One of the realities of the NRL, especially with the media and fan websites is there is a very fine line between fact and fiction.
Someone hears a whisper about a player and immediately some in the media and fan forum posters go into meltdown.
The Fonua-Blake story shows how quickly the landscape can change in 24/48 hours.
Once again, only Flanagan and those close to Ipape would really know what his short to medium term future holds.
Like other posters here, when there is an official announcement on the Dragon's website, then we will all know it is a done deal.
