DRAGONS FED UP WITH NENE MACDONALD'S ATTITUDE
The likelihood of Dragons winger Nene Macdonald remaining at the club next year is diminishing at a rapid rate.

On contract in 2019, Macdonald is being shopped to rival clubs by St George-Illawarra management.

There is a suggestion from within the Red-V that McDonald's lack of discipline off the field has left him out of favour with club management.

I’m not turning on him I just want him to start playing good footy the fact he’s been down so long suggests it ain’t a football matter rather a private one,that being said it’s all up to him to turn it around or state his intentions otherwise if he wants to leave then do it in the off season so we can recruit another halfback purely a football and business opinion nothing on him personally

I think that’s a very fair view. If he’s not happy then there is no point having an unhappy player on the books(he wouldn’t be the first & wont be the last).
He’s a very talented, capable player but if his head is somewhere else then who can blame him for wanting out.
Mind you the OP hasn’t got the best track record so I’m not putting too much weight on this.

True or not it’s hard to argue that as the season has progressed he has gone backwards with very little sign of it turning around.
I genuinely believe SuperCoach is glad Hunt has been the subject of so much scrutiny since Origin because he loves a good scapegoat.

I would be the first to agree his form has taken a nose dive since origin. He has been savaged, in my opinion, maybe a bit heavily by both the media and on the forum. Yes for the money he is being paid we deserve a better performance. His form is bad, but we need to give him time.

Having said that, there are about 12 other guys that need to cop as much if not more blame than Hunt.

The forwards with the exception of Graham and Frizell have gone missing. Completely. Non-existent go forward. No backup, no offloads, nothing on offer but running one out back into the ruck and making sweet FA in metres and damage.

The backs have been worse. No defence in the centres or the wings. The fullback, well, it’s just been a turnstile. Dufty must be averaging a thousand metres a game, sideways.

So, is Hunt really to blame here? He is just the new boy to throw crap at. I might sound like I am defending him, and probably am a little because if it was just him, sure, blame him. But it’s not. You could pick almost any player out there some days as to who was worst on field.

In the end though, it’s super coach who is the ultimate issue. He has coached this team into the ground and taken the talent and buried it. His unimaginative game play and infantile methods will once again see us bundled out after scraping into the semis.

I really hope the rumour mill is wrong. I think Hunt has a lot to offer this team once McIdiot is gone. I believe he can deliver the goods but he can’t do it alone.

I for one am glad he is at our club. We haven't had a genuine No 7 for a long time.

The only reason Bennett played him at hooker is because Hunt had signed with us and was leaving.

P.S I wish Bennett was coming but I think we are stuck with the current coach.

If Ben asks for a release I would let him go as he is not going to be able to play consistant football if he wants out.
In saying that I put the majority of the blame on the board and the coach. Anyone can see that the place has no real leadership or direction.
I believe that Hunt can not see any real future improvent in the club on and off the field. The shame part about it is this bloke can play.
