I for one hope it’s all a furphy.
He’s a class player which we need moving forward. Some say he doesn’t look happy but I think that’s just his exterior but I’ve noticed him looking the same when he was at the broncos. If you watch him he’s always involved in the try celebrating & when singing the team song. Sure he is probably frustrated because of how the team is playing & probably with the style of their play which is quite boring & easily defended against.

AS I QUOTED BEFORE DENNIS .SAD BUT TRUE NEW COACH OVER PREMIERSHIP .YES YES YES

And what’s the goal of a new coach? To win a premiership.. or am I mistaken?

You’re willing to (in this scenario) give up a premiership for the possibility of one with a new coach? I can’t quite fathom that.

Either way - I don’t think we’ll be winning the premiership this year or getting a new Coach.

The thing is we will never win a premiership under the current coaching staff

If I had watched a single episode of Seinfiekd, I imagine I’d understand your reply a bit better.

Wouldn't read too much into this...... mickey lanes strike rate leaves a lot to be desired.
Yep, his rumour 'from a close source to someone' after the Bulldogs loss, was McGregor being sacked by Monday or Tuesday of last week with Ian Millward to be caretaker coach.

Sometimes the answer is right under your nose and you don't see it

I've been watching a fair bit of ISP recently and in the last two matches, Adam Clune a half or 5/8 has been a standout for SGI. He is everything Hunt and Widdop aren't- a genuine linkman. He runs to the line, his passing is fast and accurate and he set up at least two tries with phenomenal, bullet like passes that hit the try scorer on the chest. This is what attacking half play is all about- the speed of the pass beating the man. He is also quick and elusive- maybe not as fast as Field- but who is?

I am still of the opinion that Widdop, in particular, is not a 5/8 and is better suited to lock. It's a pity that unlike other clubs, Mary hasn't used the Johns brothers to work with their halves-if so, I'm sure they would be singing Clune's praises. But, of course, Mary knows everything so that will never happen.

Clune is a decent player at that level but not a starting half NRL standard. He would have moved a couple of years ago, if anyone thought he could make it.

I think he’d go well overseas, but that would be a punt.

Well, he was a match winner on the weekend- a lot of players don't want to move away from the Illawarra because there's a strong local competition and they can pick up some useful money. Also, Clune is either studying for or has graduated in Law and may still be attending Wollongong Uni.

Bottom line- we''ll never ever know if we never ever give him a go. I doubt if our halves will ever win us a comp- with or (hopefully) without Mary.

Clune is a ok player and is a part timer.
He is studying law and working as mentioned before.
He doesn't want to become full time.
He enjoys his life as it is.
But agree he has had a great season and is one of the reason the isp is going so well.
Sometimes things are not as clear cut as they appear.
He was approached for a last year but he didn't want to go full time.
