Kenny or Luke would be a good pick-up. Kenny preferred.

Saying no to Turuva. Not discarding he's a really good player in a very good team, but he is only 181cm, very small in today's game. In fact, both their wingers are 'small" if you include To'o. So why let Turuva go? I feel the new drop out rule may have some impact on who is out wide in all clubs.

I will also add to the fact that, we have Sloan, who can play wing, if necessary, plus a few really good ones coming through such as Rumble and Williams and probably 1 or 2 more. Add in the fact that Tamale, who we want to succeed in our club, would probably commence as a winger for starters.

People talk about blocking pathways, well there's one right there in Turuva.
Mate Sloan is not a winger at NRL level. I think his days are almost over at FB too.
how many drop outs are there per game ? A tall winger in that situation is a bonus but not necessary . Yes Turuva is short but one thing you didn’t measure is his heart and ability . He’s a winner and a must get if available .

Yes for Kenny
No for Turuva
No for Sloane
Yes for the young centre from Parra for Lomax
Yes for Sua
Also need another front rower maybe a Royce Hunt
Don't forget we also have Allan next year

NRL is evolving into a hybrid game of AFL and NFL. In attack, often five hit ups and a high kick where you want someone with aerial ability like Lomax able to compete in a try scoring situation or at least force a mistake from the full-back. The Cowboys have a back (Feldt) and a forward ( Nanai) who seem to be their aerial specialists and often work together to create tries. In defence, all drop outs are now becoming contests for possession, so can't agree that we can go short all round. Turuva, Tamale- both short- if we lose Lomax, we'll not only have a slow backline but also an aerially inferior outfit.

Heard Carayannis asked again about the Lomax situation a bit earlier on the ABC.
Said that Blaize Talagi has an option in his favour for next year if he wants to leave Parramatta.
Said if there was a swap agreed to for Lomax this year, Talagi would play at 6 for the Dragons.
Flanagan looking at Kyle more as a number 9 in the future.
Sounds like even if the issues with Lomax are resolved, Talagi is a player of interest for the Dragons for 2025.

be a hell of a twist of events.. but an interesting one..

Definitely need to have a serious look at our outside backs ongoing though..

Blaize is 19 and tbh years ahead of Reed, King-Togia, Hammoud.. he also offers us fullback coverage, given Rumble is also years away from 1st grade.. so its not out of the question.. but it is a mis-match in the sense hes probably a 450k player versus an 800k one.. anyway.. im open to whatevs.. we won SG/JF/KOE/1sts today, im feeling bulletproof :p

Spoke to Zac after the game and he is staying put. Yes Bmoz said the same thing., but if Zac is off side with other players especially our seniors ones including the captain it certainly did not look that way
Just my take from the outside looking in

if Zac is offside with anyone it would have to be Birdy lol :)

That simple pass by Birdy that had Lomax in the clear ................ maan thru it behind Zac !!!

Talagi is an interesting player cause almost identical situation to Loma

I dont think we would be a better team for Talagin in 2024.........have you seen how much physical and vocal work Flano jnr was doing yesterday with our left side defence and hitups

It was non stop experienced leadership by Kyle...........we need to be a better team across the paddock for a 19yr old 5/8 to flourish

If body language is anything to go on Lomax is one happy camper.
Was there Post Match for all to see
Revving up the fans
As happy as anyone with the victory
If he makes Origin on the Wing , does he credit Flanno with the move ??
Thinking hes realised he is making much more of a contribution to the team with how Flanno is playing him.
Eventually he will move back to centre , but for now its working sweetly

I still cant understand, supposedly the media still carrying on Zac's management will lodge an immediate release this week, which we will deny. But if we said Yes he could not of been approached and an offer made as in on contract supposedly from another club. So a release is sought without another contract?. Yeh right. needs to be investigated fully.

A really good thing to come out of this wantaway drama that's enveloped our club is Flanagan's brutally honest team-first attitude and response to it. He pretty much shuts it down and tells the player they are staying or otherwise we are getting generous compensation in return. Dragons ain't going to lose out because of their sook. He respectfully gives the player (Hunt/Lomax) credit but not in an over the top way.

Cannot imagine in a million years Hook or Mary handling it this way. They'd be all about keeping the player happy and saying what is diplomatic. There's plenty of fight and sense in Flanno. Loving it.

If Turuva knocks back a 25% pay increase to join Dragons over staying with a winning team then it is just more pain for us. I'd love to see him join the team and become part of our cause.

Nothing would surprise though.

It may be that we need a player with a bit of height and size out there on the wing, especially if Lomax leaves this year. Would have been nice to hang onto Bostock and we could have it sorted.

Would love Jordan Petaia. He’s a huge talent. Not sure what type of $$ it would take to get him across, but would love for that to eventuate, potential superstar. Would take him over Turuva- that’s not to say I wouldn’t want him, think he would be handy also. Strange season so far, actually not too far away from being 3-1, an RFM try when he dropped it cold over the line would’ve gone a long way to winning v the cowboys (even though in the end we ended up getting pumped).

Turuva is more of a sure thing.. Rugby league player through an established club, best still in front of him.. 450k if thats right isnt a huge amount mind you imo... not sure that would get him out of Penrith... 60k after tax to a struggling team.

Petaia I think is more of a centre prospect to replace Bird at some stage.. but definitely more of a speculator.. no sure thing, but would be a lot of fun finding out.
