The Rumours Thread

According to MC on NRL360 it may have been a weight clause that Schuster has breached. This is going to be very interesting because Schuster has been injured and could claim it as an impediment to reducing his weight and satisfying that clause. This could end up in court. If it gets really acrimonious Schuster could even spill some dirty maroon laundry. ;)
If Manly are successful - Saints should make such condition mandatory on all contracts going forward.
Instead of having weird conditions in contracts, how about not signing known lazy players to big contracts?

Weight clauses? We could terminate half our squad for being overweight and the other half for not pulling their weight.

guessing Manly are angling

ie you have 4 weeks to get your weight back down to ? now that you are injury free

or take a payout and walk away from the remaining contract

Guessing he will try and get fit right now otherwise he losses alot of $

Suli went thru the same challenges for years

So there have been many journos sending out rumours etc. as to where Wayne Bennett might be headed when his deal at the Dolphins as their inaugural head coach finishes at the end of this year.

I love what he has said about these "rumours".

Everyone is having an opinion on it. My opinion is the one that matters but I’m not sharing it with anyone, so keep guessing guys. Don’t try and predict the future. That’s the only tip I’m giving you.

“I’ll see what I want to do and what’s happening in my life. I could still be here next year. Who knows?”

Bennett went into bat for Demetriou, who the legendary coach feels is taking all of the blame for the club’s issues.

“I know Jason is a good coach and something has gone amiss. That is their problem and they will have to sort it out,” Bennett said.

“The coach takes all of the responsibility and the club takes none. That is the tragedy of all this stuff.

“That is the job we take on. We know that is our life and we also know it can go pear shaped very quickly and that is what has happened there.

Bennett also poured water on a potential move to the Eels, with coach Brad Arthur in the midst of a battle to save his job.

“Not even nearly (have I considered it). I haven’t even walked past the ground,” he said.

“I have got a fair idea about what I have done in my life. You need to go and read another book and see what that one says because Wayne Bennett has never been near the Eels in his coaching career.

“I loved Jack Gibson and Ron Massey (former Eels coaches). They were big influences on my life and my coaching life but that doesn’t mean that is going to get me to the Eels.”

My guess is that he will receive an offer he cannot refuse, however, like he said, "keep guessing guys".

Put weight clauses into memberships... incentivise our supporter base to be healthy. Weigh-ins at the turnstyle, if you're too heavy the turnstyle doesn't swing.
Our crowds are poor as it is given the teams performances in the past decade. Don't want to drive supporter numbers down even further.

Anyway back on topic kinda, it seems Shane Flanagan has publicly distanced us from signing the unwanted Sea Eagle Josh Schuster.

When asked whether his club had an interest in Schuster, Dragons coach Shane Flanagan said: "Politely, not at this point."

That's a pretty emphatic no by Flanno standards. Good news. Aside from being a lazy heap of shit I didn't want another of the Manly 7 :)

What do people take offense at with woke?

That someone might have active awareness of systemic injustices and prejudices, especially those involving the treatment of ethnic, racial, or sexual minorities.

Or that they feel like someone's expressed beliefs about such matters are obviously not backed with genuine concern or action, and/or pushing their opinion so far that the fake outrage becomes so obvious.

This is a Rumours thread. If you want to discuss politic easy, create a thread on that and write about that stuff as much as you want. That way people that want to see rumours only as per the thread suggest are not having to read stuff not applicable to the thread's title.
