Further to my post above I just listened to part of the podcast, for those who don’t know James Graham has a podcast series called The Bye Round & has been running a series called Round Table & Flanno has been part of it. Episode 3 was released today & they were talking about “Do we have enough talent” & Flanno spoke about the opportunity to get some good players from Union & said “we are pretty close to getting one ourselves”. Interesting !

NRL can't really stand Mam down til he is formally charged. It depends on the charges. Over time they can be lowered if both sides agree to certain things. By going to rehab is a smart move that will earn him a lesser sentence. Probably avoid jail.

I don’t think so Flanno said on the podcast that there has been talk about getting a reduction/allowance under the salary cap for union players coming over.

Saw that episode as well. If Flanagan is mentioning we are close to signing a Union player then I'd assume it's basically a done deal. You wouldn't let everyone know like that if it wasn't basically done.

You would hope that Flanno has learned from the past & not go off too early & announce a signing if its not a done deal. He didn’t have to make the statement he could have simply said we are on the lookout for potential signings who could transition quickly. Time will tell.

I suppose once you are put in the situation, you don't.

I was breath tested years ago, was just under. Two full and one light beer. One each hour, thought I was under, didn't know schooners were more than a standard drink and didn't eat.

I was lucky and didn't put myself in that position again. Same with speeding, you just never know.

2030 would be the earliest for a NRL return - if correct he will earn $9.35 mill in 5 years - if he succeeds in Rugby I doubt that he will ever come back to the NRL

Have to wait for result of the second test and any court case that results from any of the charges. But surely he will receive a lengthy suspension. Spencer Leniu received 8 weeks for calling Mam a monkey and this is far far worse than that
