I do get the frustration, but in this case I think Gutho has had his family trip planned for a while.. its a good chance for him to reflect.. and I get the feeling the initial conversations were not going in our favour mind you, otherwise it would have been done by now.. but tbf it is a big decision for a club captain to leave his longterm club (obviously I exclude Hunt from the conversation here).Rev, its a good post mate, but, the good clubs put offers to players and tell them to have an answer by a certain date, end of story. It's ridiculous for any player to think they are going to spend their life at one club, the NRL reflects a National competition. They are paid more than enough money to have their kids at the best schools, there are support networks the clubs provide, and they get a huge payday that should cater for travel and probably the purchase of a new house. All I'm saying is the Dragons have been put on hold while he thinks about it or a better offer comes in. He would know what he wants and what is best for his family, no need to go on a holiday to think about it.
I think by end of this week Flanno will have his answer, im sure they would have had this exact conversation because come Nov 1, Flanno needs to move onto new targets.
I mentioned earlier that I was pretty positive we would have 2 (or more) signings done over this 2 week period heading into Nov 1.. it does sound like we have Lodge from a few accounts on here, but im not sure if the 2nd is gonna happen in time.. but between Gutho and Souths not picking up JAC.. 1 of em must be close.. I think JAC has his show cause meeting on thursday.. so cutting it very fine.
