I see some decent signings in all those guys, but no one really jumping off the page. Hunt's dismissal is a relief for sure, but I don't know how much we improve if at all. We all know Hunt's kicking wasn't great, but neither Kyle or Atkinson are good at this either. Kyle can barely kick the ball 30m.

I really hope Kyle isn't Flano's hill to die on, he needs to wake up and realise his son isn't good enough going forward. I've supported Flano in just about every decision he's made, but I always thought if he has Kyle in the team at all costs I won't support that. Atkinson might be a decent acquisition, but if we think he's carrying us towards finals, think again. We need another half on top of this, or we won't go anywhere, that's why I'd prioritise Trindall for example over Atkinson. If we can somehow land both, then great, but we need someone who can kick well and control a game. Neither Atkinson or Kyle are going to cut it in this way.

We're still going to be light in the middle too and probably in need of two more. Thompson and Willison need to be the top two priorities in the middle for 2026, with Kamakamica, potentially NAS pending his situation, Kaufusi as other options if you work your way down the list. Moale and a couple other guys probably at the bottom of a potential list for middles.
Totally get where ur coming from:

o 4 key signings though.. 4/13 = 31% of the starting team, including a captain/leader @ fullback.. its a huge boost to our chances.. now im still a little nervous because we are going to be a slow team.. but I think our left side attack will hopefully surpass our previous points strategy of 'kicking it to lomax'.

o We may land Trindall, but I suspect in order For the scum to keep Trindall, they will be willing to let Atkinson go early.. thats my hope.. I agree Trindall is the more established player.. but also more critical to the Sharks in 2025, and also on 50% more money I'd suggest to extract.. I think Atkinson would be a good outcome.. but we will still need a 3rd option incase of injury. Dunno about Kyle, too early to tell.. but no more Hunt excuse.

o Hunt has bought a house up near Suncorp, I'd love if we had swapped him for Willison (or Reynolds), but I doubt it.. I think we have given up on swaps.. but yes im sure we will make an offer for both Thompson and Willison, I dont like our chances though.. think we fell just short this year.. if we'd made finals I think were in the conversation to sign players like this.

Trindall @ 7 and Atkinson @ 6 would be handy. Kyle would be in NSW Cup as halves cover. No need for Douehi?
In a situation like that, I'd honestly put Kyle at 9 in reggies which is what he was bought to do (supposedly). LKT next half up whilst he continues his development in cup. As it stands, if Cook or Liddle go down Muhleisen is next man up at hooker as he wasn't part of the departing players list. I'd prefer Kyle in that role in particular. As for Douehi, he's not even a six I wouldn't say and he's bog average.

Why would Cronulla release both Trindall and Atkinson. it's one or the other, surely.
Yeah, they wouldn't which is why I would say Trindall should be the priority. IF we could land both that's an ideal world, but my point is we need a half like Trindall way more than we need a half like Atkinson, having both would be great.
Incorrect, Griffen was gone in May, Flano signed in June & Rava was extended in July.
The deal for Rava was done before Flano, it was just announced in July in a mass recruitment and retention update whilst the club was trying to paint a positive picture. Unfortunately they were/are completely out of touch and had no idea that Rava's re-signing was not a positive

Sean O'Sullivan is the most likely imo.
although I dont think there is any trade as such happening.. O'Sullivan is the man displaced if Hunt goes to Redcliffe.. not a bad guy to add to our 'trio' of halves.. not that ive watched him tbh.. but he has to be a half we could work with.. but id rather Atkinson, because he is quicker.. and given his inexperience.. he is imo playing far better than I could expect.. so I think his best is still in front.

If we end up with Sloane and Fox in the wings, Val at center and Cook at 9 we won't be slow

Flanno won a comp with The chad.... Bennett won a comp with Benny Hornby

It's about guts...
Completely understand that view, but in the modern game with 6 agains, field position is way more crucial. Kicking game has become way more important, because it is one of the only ways you can swing back momentum now. The momentum used to swing throughout just about every game at one point or another, there are a lot of games now where the momentum never shifts.

You can have all the guts in the world, but in my view in the modern game with the absurd 6-again rule, it's not enough if you aren't capable of gaining valuable field position. It is the main reason for Penrith's dominance, they play a disciplined, simple game, just about to perfection, where dominating field position is the cornerstone to it all. Guts just won't be enough at the end of the day anymore when the fatigue of being dominated in field position sets in

There's still a whole heap of miserable idiots on social media - ie. Facebook - who are complaining we've let "our best player" go and that we're going to get the spoon next year. Makes you wonder how many games some Dragons fan watch......

This!

Imagine defending a very well paid player, who has publicly stated he doesn't want to play for the Cub for over 1 year.

Club/Badge > player every day.
