As much as i dislike the TPA's, (simply because we are pathetic in this regard), why would V'Landys get rid of them?
There will be so much pressure to keep the code alive, people at Clubs employed, contractors etc, that any income would be welcome.
NRL HQ needs to shed some of the 150 odd employees, Cap reduced, players salaries brought back to the real world, and then maybe we have a game.

And this is where I think V’Landys will excel,
He’s not afraid to make the tough calls, Just so long as the clubs don’t spit the dummy & try to get rid of him.

I think we are in a stronger financial space than a few other teams. A 14 team competition would be the absolute minimum, if it ever came to that, given the number of players in all competitions from juniors to NR in hoth NSW and QLD. Lessening the player pool would only create a greater divide between the strong clubs and the not so strong clubs.
IMO, the 3 clubs under most financial stress would be the Titans, Sharks and the Warriors. The warriors only because of the cost involved in travel, not only for them but other teams going there.
However, I believe no current club will fold, the Storm (no pun intended) will pass and life will continue.

With assets over $14m and owning its home ground means Cronulla won’t fold. As for SGI, remember, it cannot payout McGregor.

if I was running the club I wouldn’t pay someone 2yrs salary to ride off into the sunset
I would demote him To see if he can still provide some return for money which is pretty much what they’ve done brought in another proven superior basically current coach to help himcoach and siending him on a junket overseas to try to improve his coaching
He is walking on thin ice and he knows it and the start of the season certainly hasn’t helped him
Dont expect him to be there too much longer at the longest see out this year As we all know he is a waste of money at the moment unless he’s cleaning the joint

So a club that is reliant on funding from a leagues club group in Newcastle that are all now closed losing millions and had to lay off all of their coaching staff is going to pay 2.1 million for a player in this climate? sounds a little odd...
