I know Cronulla is the derby side but is there a great deal of hatred (ie Souths v Roosters) between you guys or is it more fun -having a laugh at them? Is McInnes signing with Cronulla any worse than if he signed with any other team? I hated Teddy going to the Roosters but I really hated our players going to Parra!

Roosters are my most hated team. Sharks hurt though and I feel they are a bit shady with all the drugs scandal and repeated salary cap breaches including their maiden GF which will always have an Asterix in my book. But I can understand why our players go there because a lot of them don't need to move house. They couldn't give two stuffs about the club they just don't want the hassle of moving house. We need to target more country boys who would prefer to live in the Gong imo.

I think each fan has his or her own personal " team to hate ", mine is Manly. I lived at Cronulla for a while and also had a soft spot for Peachey, ET, Rogers, McGaw and others so I don't hate them as much as a lot of Saints fans I know. I didn't care much for Wests Magpies either, pure scum that lot, no offence.

I think many Dragons fans like the Cronulla area but we just dislike the club itself, especially former CEO Peter Gow from the Super League days.

Cronulla use to be a good place long ago...
Now it’s just an overcrowded & overrated shithole.
I was a former Shire resident & got sick of hearing Sharks supporters whinging & complaining in the 80’s & 90’s until they sold their arse to Super League.
They hated the Dragons & feelings were mutual.

I recall how Cronulla were on a razor’s edge in being forced out of the competition due to a lack of funds many years back but were saved at the last minute from extinction .

The Dragons owed the NRL a paltry $6million and Dill Rothschild constantly made remarks about our situation in the media - really kicking a team when they were down . I believe also that the St.George Club ( at the time ) actually gave funds to the Sharks to help with their survival - as did a number of clubs , but of course all of that was forgotten when we were in debt .

Also the mouth of the South none other than Paul Gallen ( great player but man someone should had put a butt plug in that blokes mouth ages ago ) anyhow getting back to him , he commented early on in his career how he would fight fire with fire if the Dragons put the biff on in the weekends local derby - but of course the Dragons were playing a near reserve grade side due to a horrendous run of injuries . It was indeed brave talk for one who knew full well that his opponents were without most of their forward pack .

I could go on but they are on the upside of the spinning disc at this point in time whereas we here at the Joint Venture are struggling to get out from under the flip side .

The only thing that I ever really liked about Cronulla was Gunamatta Bay used to go swimming there back in the ‘50 s .

I hate the Roosters because of the way they rort the cap rules....and their arrogance.
I hate the Storm for their tactics and suspicious history with the cap.
I hate the Tigers mainly due to the Moltzen debacle.
I hate Manly just because they are Manly.

But, the teams I hate most are the traditional Sydney clubs (Bulldogs, Sharks, Panthers) that jumped ship to Super League and almost destroyed the sport.
Selfish and ungrateful to the ARL, particularly the Sharks who had been helped repeatedly to stay afloat.

For me it’s the eels, mainly because of their supporters from back in the 70/80’s when at the games.

Alot of members on this forum have been claiming that I have been to pessimistic about the clubs chances

The last two days have shown why i have no faith in the future of this club

We are dying a slow death

I have always thought highly of a man who distributes his hate around evenly .:relaxed:

Have patience BR.
Rome wasn't built in a day.

I feel the worst has come to its apex and we will soon see positive movements, both on and off the field.

And i suggest another famous saying in "the darkest hour is just before the dawn!"

Stay strong (that applies to us all).

It certainly seems to me that Griffin is concerned about our playing depth and that is probably one of the reasons he spoke to Folau which created this media fiasco.

We do need someone who is very experienced and athletic similar to a younger Folau. At present our younger brigade lack this experience and whilst they may be showing potential, just not ready yet.

We were very fortunate to get Mark Gasnier back and we won a premiership with his experience. We again need that someone to take us to the next level if there is one!
