Because in Feagai’s view maybe he feels he is not the future in Hooks eyes given that he has probably put in a solid off season, finished last year strong and probably felt he would be a fair shot at retaining his place in the side and we go looking at a washed up bloke surrounded in controversy that isn’t setting the super league on fire and hasn’t played nrl for years. If another team come knocking he might consider a switch if they promise a starting spot.

Hook may have wanted Folau at fullback, we'll never know.

Couldnt agree more regardless of whether people wanted him or not. It was handled so poorly
For mine Dufty is expendable & will likely move to the Warriors anyway so I was ok with Falau coming for a year or two. But whether the club was scared off by his politics or because he was seen as unnecessary to requirements I don’t think there’s any harm done.

There is a rumour going around that Saints are seriously pursuing Brandon Smith. If that comes off, it will surely make up for losing McInness. In fact if the reason they let McInness go is because they feel confident in getting Brandon Smith then I am all for it.In fact I think it woiuld be great for the club. I am sure they have money in the bank for this for 2022 with McInness and Norman leaving. Brandon Smith will have the No.9 guaranteed so why would he not want to join.

It's been quite a week.
Lots if chatter now about 'prospective' signings from well respected members.
No names given or timeframe.

Seems like the sun has finally appeared and the darkness may soon pass.

Hopefully!!!!

my mail was actually Folau on the wing.
Big body for early carries out of our end plus another tall target.
Ramsay at Fullback and Fergai still at centre.

Shame we didn't think to use some of the Folau money to throw at Saab, he's going to be huge for Manly. He's another big loss for us.

EHD,
Big dollars for a winger .. maybe at fullback .. anyway Im happy for our junours to step up and have a go .. its the only way we can see if they have it , that way we can see where we need to strengthen

Feagai and Ramsey had 1 game for the Saints and were very impressive. They deserve first crack in the backs rather than a player from outside the club including Folau. That was my issue with signing hm. Feagai x 2, Duffty and Lomax are local boys and I would love nothing more than to have those 4 in the starting line up. Rava and Periera are quite good as well. And with the other Feagai bro they are well stocked for 2021. Also Williame is another bloke who can play a role with NRL experience.

Forwards are where the stocks are pretty thin and needing to be stocked up.

I had mixed feelings about Saab leaving also but he was contracted to end ‘22 but for one reason or another he wanted out. If a player isn’t going to have pride in the jersey & doesn’t want to stay then best let him go & give the opportunity to others who want to be at the Red V

They both had 2, I think Ramsey had 3 actually.

I haven’t heard that one but of course they will try. Every team in the NRL without a decent 9 will. Whether we get him is another thing.
