It's good to see that we have great prospects coming through in the junior teams and pathways in the backs and forwards. Josh Coric is one youngster that might have been on Trent Merrin's mind when he eluded to one of the younger guys in our camp that would fit the bill to replace him. He and Jackson Shereb-Schmidt are players to keep an eye out for.
Johnson would have been a better signing than Norman back in 2018 but now we’ve surely moved on from big dollar signings.

As expected Norman’s form has started to slip again, I’d play Bird at 6 & give Mat Feagai a go at left centre

I wouldn't mind Capewell or Finucane but I'd also be looking at the Warriors hooker Jazz Tevaga because there's not many hookers on the market and we have none coming through. I think we can forget Brandon Smith.
Bunty Afoa is off contract too.
Egan is the hooker
Tevaga plays back row or 13

Heard on 360 last night that Xavier Coates to Melbourne is just about a done deal. Bellamy has even flown to Brisbane to meet with him and it's only a matter of time before he signs. Bellamy would turn him into the next G.I. without a doubt...

WOW...

They lose Addo-Carr for 2022 and they look like replacing him with Coates...

Some Rugby League clubs just run like well oiled machines and others seem like they are run by a bunch of headless chooks...

I wonder which category we fall into...

Apart from the coaching staff and CEO our internal Important appointments including pathways still reek of job fir the boys.
Haran, Millward, Head, Timmins I still all have reservations about.
Pathways and junior development is the most important part.
I know we have set up an academy which is a start but I am not sure we have the right people Involved

There is just no competition when it comes to which clubs players would prefer to sign up with. If the Storm wants a player, that player knows that the Storm club is one of the flagships of the top leagues clubs and he would agree wholeheartedly to join - why not? They have maintained being in the top 4 for so many seasons and likely to continue infinitum.
The lesser clubs are just grateful that they just have a team and competing against a club like the Storm to sign a player - well we know how it ends.
We could not sign up Christian Welch unless we paid massive overs. He loves the Storm - why leave when he has a great coach, they will win premierships and take less money in doing so?
We can only hope that our club goes ahead in leaps and bounds by developing our juniors and encouraging the youngsters in the region to play league. Develop them so that one day they will be the champions like we had several in the past.

Matty Johns interview with Nicho Hynes gave a good insight into why players love the Storm and don't want to leave. Here was a kid whose mother was in and out of jail and he talked about the club's "brotherhood"- a family he lacked. A culture of selflessness where every coach, official and player bought into the continual improvement of others and the senior players like Smith and Munster stayed back after training to help the younger players with their development.

No prizes for guessing why seemingly average players like Hughes, Olam, Reimis Smith, Kaufusi, Welch and even Papenhuysen were transformed into the exceptional players they are now.

Ever so right red&white4evr , the possibility of winning a premiership is what got the St.George club back in their golden era just about any player they wanted and also as you have said the culture at the club .

The Storm are the new ‘ golden team ‘ , it is a club that will at the very least make the top 4 , if not the grand final , season after season . Little wonder they have no problem recruiting players that have plenty of potential and with a coach who , disregarding his questionable tactics , will bring out the very best in them .

I believe that would be about the first decent thing I have ever said about that club and probably the last , but it merely shows the difference , the huge gulf between them and the Dragons as to where we are at the moment - it is enormous .

Some of the so called boys earn a shot and a chance Head and Timmins local boys made good if you don't give them a chance how do you know. As for Millward agree had more than enough time see ya later.

I agree with giving kids a go but most of our guns haven’t even played or barely played Cup. Sloan and co are straight out of SG ball. Max Feagai has been consistently killing it at cup level and deserved his shot as he was next cab off the rank but the others not so much. Amone seems to have jumped ahead of Clune which could be down to stuff they have seen at training, maybe a physicality that indicates he could handle NRL. If Sloan kills it at NSW cup level in a few weeks if injuries occur he’s an option.
