Agree Big Rig - I would imagine that it is lower than suggested , but the extra year is what he was after so financially it would still be a viable alternative to the other clubs .

I reckon he would be off to the Gold Coast myself .

Also just reported that TPJ is about to sign for the doggies .

With respect DD, there is absolutely zero reason to play the recruitment game out in public. I’m more than happy for Hook and co to keep it nice and quiet and in house. No need to feed the media maggots with speculation on every player that comes available. People need to trust that Hook knows what he is doing. Good times are coming and trying to clean up a 10 year mess will take some time

where do you play him...cant be 13... he's not a 2nd rower....and he's not a prop...we need players like Sea Eagles back rowers, huge, athletic, and skilled...none of these work horse nuggets..

No he is not. For that money we can get 2 very promising forwards. How many 800k plus signings have really earned their money and only stuffed up their sides cap ? We ourselves have Vaughan & Norman ( and Hunt before this year ) . Other players of note Dugan, Moylan, Taylor, Milford, Brooks, and the list goes on.

No comparison to those names above. Finucane is a forward leader. 850K a bit high but we have to pay overs to get a forward leader of his capability.

Sadly means he'd fit in pretty well with some of our other players. We are a bit of a cesspool of spoilt, selfish drongos, and moneysuckers.

I really miss the good old days with the Hornby's, Cooper's, Soward's and Creagh's etc really decent players with the right attitude and work ethic.

We keep finding ourself in the same predicament. Tempting to go overs because of our vulnerabilities instead of being a place players want to join. Maybe you can't put a value on the culture and work ethic he brings but it still an amount that could come back to haunt us, say he gets injured or when the Storminess rubs off.

He may be a good leader and example, but I feel he is not worth that upper level of coin at his age.
