I think that line is from the movie "Field of Dreams". The people did come when we had the best Coach to build us a team of winners. Doust was the man who somehow got us Bennett but was also the villain who didn't agree to Bennett's request for a 5 year term.

We know that since 2011 we have regressed and it has indeed turned out to be a "shit show" and the box office has been poorer for it. If Doust was able to get Bennett, what is stopping Young in getting the best for the years ahead? Have they in the "big room" just lost interest in winning another premiership? Are they only happy to receive their pay cheques and letting things run as they are? If they were able to do what they did in 2008 to get Bennett for 2009-2011 then why can't they again get a top coach for 2023-2007?

I'm just bewildered to say the least on how things have been these past 10 years - soooo bad.

RedV, my brother in law is a Wests Tigers tragic. Claims Liddle would be a great buy for us provided he stops getting injured. Hopefully he is now at an age that his body is finally right. Lost none of his zip and very quick out of Fake & potentially a very good footballer.
Id prefer Simpkins or Verrills but that is just me. Injury will follow Liddle

I liked the look of that big long haired fella that S’ua attempted to pat on the back yesterday , has ability and his is only young . 😳
BS penalty. It was turning point of the game. Where we down 10-8 at the time? and defending well.
They had a lot of repeat sets including 6 agains but a try was always going to come
Having said that our attack was worse than it has been (deplorable yesterday) which is saying something and they only way we were going to score a try was via a lucky bounce (i.e. JDB's pinball effort)

Just off topic for a bit, what do you guys think about the golf dramas with the PGA and LIV Tours? It's gotten out of hand in my opinion. I love following the golf almost as much as following the Dragons, but I cannot believe the amounts of money both Tours are now putting up for signing players and the prize money on offer. It's way over the top money for just hitting a little white ball around a golf course. After a given 3-4 days of golf, someone will win millions and others thousands. Are the players worth being paid that much as compared to what rugby league players get?

Just like tennis, prize money has soared through the roof. New parents should get their kids into tennis and golf in my opinion.

I guess the game of golf is worldwide and the sponsors get more in return than league which is only played in a few countries. Anyway, just thought I would say something about this sport of golf rather than waffle on more about our sorry situation at the Dragons.

Truth. They have been targeting him since he was out injured earlier this year
I think we forget about Verrills and Liddle and develop one of youngens like Mulheisen. Have they not learned anything from the Reece Robson scenario??

It seems to me we have never really had the cleanout that was required after the Mary era. Yes, we appointed a replacement coaching staff but again went for economy rather than excellence. Griffin and his staff have not done the job required but this is not the dominant problem.

Our self-serving Board of Management is the real problem and the WIN side of the owner not delivering the essential cash injection needed to bring about a change of direction when it comes to success on the field and off the field is our main problem.

I say;
Sack Young, Doust, and Gordon off the Board and sell 50 percent of the shares to a new Dragons friendly owner.

Make at least 25 percent of shares available for sale to Red V members and give all Red V members voting rights when it comes to Board positions.

After this hire the highest quality staff available to turn things around setting KPI's that focus on results. 2-year contracts only with an option in favour of the club for a further 2 years.

As for the playing roster, focus on the spine first. Move Hunt to hooker, and provide Ramsey, Sloan, Amone, and Sullivan with personal coaching staff in order to lift their overall performance.

Buy two SOO level props, and an SOO level back row forward.

Our 2023 round 1 team should be:
1. Sloan
2. Matt Feigai
3. Suli
4. Ramsey
5. Ravalawa
6. Amone
7. Sullivan
8. New prop
9. Hunt
10. New prop
11. New edge forward
12. Su'A
12. Lomax

14. Mueleson
15. De Belin
16. F Molo
17. Bird

Let go of all players off contract and any who want to be released.

Sack the coaching staff and hire; Flanno, Brown, and Barrett.

Sack our football department staff and hire more professional people focusing on KPI's that deliver results.

Replace fitness staff and Marketing staff.

Incentivize the Red V Membership program and provide fans with a better overall experience at games, for example:

* Arrange to have about 50 balls with the game day info stamped on the balls and the signature of the team players placed on the balls.

* Make it known that balls kicked into the crowd can be kept.

* Any balls left over after full time are to be kicked into the crowd by the Dragons players.

* Form a Red V Members Band and provide them free game tickets and a free lunch. Have them dressed in unique uniforms.

* Have fire-breathing dragons placed around the ground and have them breathe fire when we score or provide excitement.

Sell 'Dagwood Dogs' inside the ground.
