being under in 22 wont help us now. 23 is what we are focussing on and we dont have money to buy the players you talk about for 2023, 24 is another discussion
Maybe it will. Aren’t they allowed to spend part of a 2023 signing on the 22 books if there is space?

Yes. But I am not sure where the narrative is coming from that we did not spend all of our cap this year when you add Sims 800K & Mcguire on top to the list what we will take in next year as we have not gained anyone of significance

Apparently Sloan asked for release on Friday as reported in Sunday Telegraph even though contracted ...Sullivan waiting to see if Ben Hunt extends before also deciding if he's off or staying even though contracted...
I dont know why contracts are signed...they dont mean anything!

Stuff these blokes, bottom line he had a couple of shockers, Ramsey got the spot and he is better. It’s called an apprenticeship, it’s about learning to crawl before you walk and lastly about having some respect for the opinion of those above you and listening to what they tell you. Bottom line IMO he thinks his poo doesn’t smell.

The kid had one shocker.. was pouring rain terrible day to catch a slippery footy ball. In my view Ramsay is still doing his apprenticeship too.. at fullback after playing on the wing so far in his career. Sloan had one shocker.. dumped, Ramsay had one blinder.. cements the spot. Been moderate since. Meanwhile Sloan is tearing em up in Ressies from the back. In his last game he pulled off three try assists with his vision and two of his own with his glide like pace, step and swerve. Ramsay can only dream of natural skill as that. He has blinding speed, little else. So thanks to Griffin's apparent desire to back has beens over our talented junior talent like other clubs do, Sloan may have to showcase those skills with another club, and Wayne Bennett is sniffing.

You can blame Hook for most of the unsettlement our young guys are going through. Hook doesn't appear to be able to mentor most of the young ones we have and seems to prefer his old "buddies". It will be extremely disappointing if Sloan and any other young guns decide to leave. I hope that Sloan doesn't leave as he has so much potential that what he needs to do is remain patient.

Yeh. The young of today seem to lack patience more than we oldies (speaking for myself) which is a crying shame when they are as talented as Tyrell Sloan. It is the smell of fame and fortune that abounds in sport these days that drives these kids imo.

Hard to remain patient, when ur eyes are wide open to the imberciles running our club. Untill we rid ourselves of this
Board, nothing will change.

I agree, but what gets me is that so many of our juniors are just let go and that has a snowballing effect on others. It is hard for young ones to wait I know but if they are really good enough and that the pathways are clear for them at the club they would stay on and bide their time just like the juniors at the Panthers.

If players can sense that the head coach is not doing them any favours, there tends to be a feeling of being unwanted even though there are a few years left on the contract - what's the use attitude comes out.

If we lose players who are already contracted, how in hell do we sign anyone else from another club to a contract boy oh boy!?

Anyway, nothing is official until it is, so I'm hoping that these rumours are not true.

Let Sloan go if it has to happen but by no means whatsoever should we release Sullivan. If it means upsetting or inconveniencing Hunt then so be it.

Ramsay has done enough to secure that fullback spot. Would be great to give Sloan more game time but looks like he may slip. Sullivan has to be a permanent part of the starting team in 23.

The club have to get this right.

Why are you prepared to let Sloan go but not Sullivan. He has not convinced me that he is our long term half solution..seen plenty of him too. From only the one game Flegg half Braxton Wallace looks to have a better ball in hand game than Sully. For the record I want all "three amigos" to stay and play in our spine as they know each others game back to front.

At the end of the day its the club you follow, not the players. That is what I have been told, but losing youth is a hard pill to swallow. We have been repeatedly saying that our team is made up of a lot of has beens and rejects and that is what we will continue to have if we allow the youth to leave us.

Surely there has to be some way for this to be addressed/suppressed? Maybe the answer is ridding the club of the so called coach we have.

I know we can't keep them all especially in the tight salary cap position we apparently are in, but when the time comes if/when Hunt retires, who will we have as a replacement half back lined up? If Sullivan goes, do we try and get him back? Are the other halves in the lower grades any better? If Sloan goes and Ramsey gets injured longish term, who do we have as a replacement? Bird?, Mbye? Ridiculous.

If Sloan and Sullivan request releases and are let go I see there’s no “vision” or grand plan going forward that we keep hearing about from management. At this stage it is all paper talk but if it eventuates we are a club with no future, plan or vision heading forward.

I have said it before, South’s mad a tough call on Reynolds last year and are reaping the benefits with Ilias having a blinder last night and the Rabbits a chance of making the grand final.

why we are so intent on keeping Hunt from ‘24 onwards and losing Sullivan is beyond me if we are to have any grand plan

If Sloane goes and others as reported with only a couple of new signings I can’t see how we fill our 30 man roster??
Well based off the fact if all players rumoured to be leaving do leave then our current top 30 for next year would be

1. Cody Ramsey
2. Mathew Feagai
3. Zac Lomax
4. Moses Suli
5. Mikaele Ravalawa
6. Junior Amone
7. Ben Hunt
8. Blake Lawrie
9. Jacob Liddle
10. Francis Molo
11. Billy Burns
12. Jack Bird
13. Jack De Belin
14. Moses Mbye
15.Aaron Woods
16. George Burgess
17. Tyrell Fuimaono
18. Max Feagai
19. Jaiyden Hunt
20. Michael Molo
21. Josh Kerr

That is a f**kn pathetic squad

Braith Anasta believes there must be more to the story to explain Sloan’s lack of minutes this season.

“There has to be a relationship or communication breakdown to see Tyrell Sloan, who was one of the best coming through for his age group, to go from where he was to then where he’s been lately,” Anasta said.
“It’s tough to watch because you know he’s a hell of a lot better. But obviously there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes there.”

The problem as I see it is that he must be in the bad books with Hook. I don't think that Hook has done anything to try and get Sloan to be a better player and improve on any deficiencies. Hook I think has let Sloan wander aimlessly without giving him any clear indication what he will do with him going forward. That is the usual mindset of our coach who just doesn't have any people management.

OK so if Sloan goes to me it won't be because he is after more money, it will be for better coaching (Hook isn't the ideal coach) and better man to man approach as I don't think he will be a walk up start in any other club just yet as he still has a lot to learn and build up. It will be for more hands on and actual learning to be a better player that is not forth coming at the Dragons.

That could also apply to Sullivan and maybe a couple of other youngsters at the club.
