Maybe he should give his team mates most of the hugely overpaid packet he is on for proping him up during the last 5 years.(Just like Weekend At Bernie's)
He also owes the media big time for constantly reminding us what a great season he was having and if anyone has by any chance forgotten
"He was leading the Dally M's before they went behind closed doors"
What a joke
IMO if Sullivan was 7 he would have been leading and WON the bloody Dally M's
Non of the above really matters. Craig Young wants his son to succeed when he appoints his son head coach. So, the last thing he wants is a rookie coach learning his trade while his son is in charge. That is it in a nutshell.

But our forward pack is so, ineffective that no matter who is at halfback, we won't be competitive. We now need two more forwards as Robison at hooker is off the table and no longer necessary as Sullivan or Hunt will wear the 9 jumper.

So let's look who as gone and try and get two forwards to replace them; players who are an improvement.
Sims 800k
Ford 200k
We could sign David Fifita for the cap saved from the departure of these two edge forwards.

We have also let go a bunch of ineffective props and so, I'm hoping that 'Woods will decide to go to the ESL and add to the 600k salary we would need to sign a good prop.

Possible 17:
1. Burgess / Sloan
2. Matt Feagai
3. Suli
4. Lomax
5. Ravalawa
6. Amone / Sullivan
7. Hunt / Sullivan
8. New prop
9. Sullivan / Liddel
10. De Belin
11. David Fifita
12. Su'A
13. Bird

14. Mbye
15. F Molo
16. Lawrie
17. M Molo / Burns

I know it’s only rumoured by journalists, but if this club let Sullivan & Sloan walk out the front door then we are run by complete morons.
Invest & develop the youth, instead of buying recycled old hacks.
I’d rather this prick of a club get rid of Hook a year early, than see the long term damage that will unfold.
Pay him out & give the reigns to Flanno with the instruction to give the youth some experience and opportunity.
Great comments, I agree 100%.

This won't happen mainly because Craig Young would not risk the chance that Flanno may actually be a success as our head coach.

And its started. Who knows what's true and what's not and we fans have 5 months of this before a ball is kicked in 2023. Every two bit hack journo and third rate publication will keep the story rolling along. It'd be great if the truth or fact get mentioned and quoted. A novel concept I know for social media. As I said, it's going to be a long five months.

I can understand why Sullivan and Sloan are upset and I am sure our BOD is aware of the displeasure of these players. Let us see if there is a plan to appease the young fellows or do they just suck it up and leave at the first opportunity.

Hunt has done nothing significant
Failed to get us to the finals
Never re-paid us in football success for the pay packet he has been on and now may cost us our best junior
What a club man
I was referring to Bud my friend , merely using Hunt's achievements as a comparison between the 2 . For what it is worth I have also said in previous posts that Ben was extracting to much money from the Dragons and not delivering the goods .

However that is an entirely matter as we are discussing young Bud’s request - yet again for an immediate release from his contract .

In my most humble opinion the young man certainly does have plenty of potential , however he needs to forget past disappointments and concentrate on playing consistently at his best level to get into the top grade on a more permanent basis .

After all he happily signed an extension to stay . Perhaps someone needs to take him aside an explain just what a contract entails ?

Agree , but all I am seeing is , it is a set up for Dean to take over .....

Certainly seems that way in 2024 when his Cowboys contract finishes. In the meantime, chuck Flanno in for a year to get some order in the place, before he hands it over to Deano and maybe he can be a mentor/advisor as well as looking after recruitment & retention.
I have zero faith in Haran & Millward doing the shopping for players……they are Costco driven!

I'd say more Reject Shop than Costco.

It’s a depressing time to follow this side. Even during the darkest McGregor years I’ve never felt so disillusioned with the way this rabble of a club is being run. For the first time in my time as a fan, which is noted in my user name, I can honestly see a wooden spoon being a possibility for us in 2023. I’m gutted that the upcoming crop of juniors are feeling like they aren’t part of this imposter of a coach’s plans.

I wouldn't normally advocate the club coming out and making a statement about this sort of stuff, but when you search the club up on google it is just an absolute frenzy of media reports right now and the club need to come out and say something to its fans. If sloan did post something saying goodbye to sullivan, he's since taken it down. Let us not forget Moses Suli did the same for Jaydn Su'a, who has since not left the club so I don't know what's with our players doing that if it turns out Sullivan doesn't leave.

My view on the whole situation is that a lot can change in 12 months. They need to deny sullivan a release and reassess 12 months from now. Jayden wasn't even touted to play half until 2024 anyway (the club has also screwed its salary cap once again by giving him a huge pay rise in 2024 which may force our hand to release him). But what if for example, Hunt gets injured next year and we need Sullivan. Or the year after that? We just don't know. The club should act in their best interest because quality halves are hard to go by, we just happen to have one amazing half and two amazing halves in the making all vying for 2 positions. It's a good headache if anything. It's tough but I think Sullivan should be the 14 next year. The suggestions he should alternate halfback with hunt are ridiculous, you don't change your halfback and your main man mid-game. Imagine you're out on the field, and the man calling the shots alternates after 40-50 mins. This isn't under 12's where everyone gets a go.

I could be wrong, but I think Sullivan and Sloan have the same manager too. I would suggest the man, as most managers are, is a self-interested shmuck. If we all look at reality for a moment, Sullivan's defence is not up to first grade standard and neither is his long kicking game. He isn't up to the level (yet) that some fans think he is where he can take the reigns week-to-week. This kid isn't nathan cleary and people are treating him as such. As Ben Hunt said, he was behind the likes of Lockyer and Peter Wallace until he was around 24. Ben Hunt's deal will expire when Sullivan is 24.

The Dragons have a real chance to show its fans what we're hearing about them heading in the right direction is true by showing some backbone by saying no to both sloan and sullivan. They also have the chance to show a change now by coming out and saying something to the effect of that they won't be releasing sullivan or sloan as they are seen as a big part of the future of this club. Let's hope they get this one right.
