Very true, Lethal. Planning isn't one of the Dragons' good points in my opinion.Makes me wonder how things are run. A guy on $500k waits until pre-season to say nah, not bothered. Whilst it's a positive in my view as he was not up to scratch you'd hope the club knew some time back and had been making contingency plans.
Another roster spot to fill, where are the new signings? That’s what I want to know.Makes me wonder how things are run. A guy on $500k waits until pre-season to say nah, not bothered. I think McCulloch not playing 2023 is better than D. Fafita signing tbh.Even when good news comes some find a way to be negative and point fingers etc.
Things are looking like some thought has gone into where we are and where we are going but now we have all the "but who is going to play for us" now that the planks have gone.
Well how about we just be a bit patient and see what happens when the World Cup ends and then we might know a bit more.
Soft diplomacy may indeed be the very way we are doing thing.
Given Liddle‘s history with injuries I doubt he’s up to week in week out 80min football.I think McCulloch not playing 2023 is better than D. Fafita signing tbh.
He was a massive problem. I’m hoping that we see either Hunt or Sullivan playing 9 now and not Mbye or Liddle, fingers crossed.
Liddle 9, Mbye 14 is a possibilityGiven Liddle‘s history with injuries I doubt he’s up to week in week out 80min football.
HalleleujahDaily Telegraph Reporting Aaron Woods has signed a 1 year deal with the Wests Tigers
Telegraph also reporting that Andrew McCullough will announce his retirement next week
It started todayThere's every chance the good news starts next week I'm told
Surely, we have enough salary cap now to sign Fifita!Makes me wonder how things are run. A guy on $500k waits until pre-season to say nah, not bothered. Whilst it's a positive in my view as he was not up to scratch you'd hope the club knew some time back and had been making contingency plans.
Fifita = Journeyman with baggageSurely, we have enough salary cap now to sign Fifita!
Liddle 9, Mbye 14 is a possibility
How many 80 minute 9’s are there now? This scares me, mainly because it's likely and because Hook will stick with it. Didn't Liddle and Mbye sometimes play hooker rotation at Wests ? How did that work out ?
Liddle isn't an 80 minute player, closer to 50mins a game which means wasting a valuable bench spot on a rotation hooker
Fifita might be a journeyman but he’d still be our best player if he were to sign with us.Fifita = Journeyman with baggage
Hopefully the club is looking for a better option
I say it should be Hunt at 9, Sullivan at 7, and maybe MBye at 14, given we have not really recruited a suitable hooker. If things go wrong at 7 in a game, we have Mbye and Hunt available to cover this role.If Macca has indeed put the cue in the rack (and I do thank him for his service), then I feel the hooking role will be hotly contested during the pre-season and trials.
You'd have to assume Liddle will get first crack at the starting 9 and remember he only has a 1yr deal. Bud as the 14 is an obvious selection now. Mybe is always an option, but his 'value' maybe utilised in other areas.
But don't discard other possibilities as we don't know who is signed to what yet.
Connor Muhleisen
Haele Finau
Navajo Doyle
These names come to mind. However, besides young Finau, I haven't heard if CM or ND are still with us. If they are there's plenty of hooking options especially later on in the season.
